Lynx skipped through the forest calling out "Wolfieeeeeeeee!" as Cutie ran along beside her and tried to catch Resa's scent.

Wolf had been missing for a day now. Phoenix had supposedly been the last to see him, but she never told anyone why he ran off. Lynx had gotten frustrated with how much people didn't care about where he was, so she decided to go hunting for him by herself. She knew that where ever he was, he was probably battling his demons, since he only ever ran off like that when he needed time to think. Lynx NEVER allowed him to be depressed alone, but no matter how many times she scolded him for running off, he would always do it again the next time he was overwhelmed.

"WOOOOLFFIEEEEEEEEEE!" She screamed. She was always terrified when he ran away, since that usually meant that he was going to do something that he didn't want the others to see. Lynx was always afraid that the worst would happen one of those times. What if it's this time? She thought worriedly.

Tears pricked her eyes, she couldn't lose Wolf. He was like a big brother to her, he was the only human that Lynx could actually tolerate. He's not gone, she thought and angrily wiped her tears away. "Cutie, search harder!" she commanded at took off at a sprint.

"WOOOOOLF. PLEASE COME OOOOOOOUT" She yelled.

Cutie's ears pricked up when she heard a light sob. Lynx heard it too, and both bolted towards the sound.

Wolf was on the ground hugging Resa tight and crying into her fur. The big white wolf growled at them to stay away, but Cutie hissed back and approached anyway. "Wolfie...." Lynx sat down next to him.

He lifted his head, wiped at his face, and sniffled "Lynx, what are you doing here?" He demanded.

"How many times have I told you that you can't run off like that? You know my rule!" She said and hugged him tightly.

Wolf hugged her back and whispered "I'm sorry...."

"Sorry doesn't cut it mister! Why can't you just tell me when things are wrong? I have no problem killing people, ya know." She didn't let go of him.

Wolf sighed "Yeah, but you can't kill Phoenix."

"Phoenix?" Lynx said and lifted her head to look at him "What did she do?"

Wolf shifted uncomfortably and rubbed the nape of his neck "It's uhm... not really my place to say...."

Lynx levitated a stick up and pointed it at his nose threateningly "Tell me."

Wolf sighed again, "Well, uhm, Phoenix sort of came onto me."

Lynx furrowed her brow and dropped the stick "What do you mean by that?"

Wolf rubbed the stump on his hand "She, uh, she tried to kiss me. I pushed her back and didn't know what else to do, so I ran off."

"But wait, aren't you a Diifer?" Lynx asked.

Wolf nodded in response and gazed at the ground "You're the only one that knows, though."

"Oh Wolfie...." She sighed "You'll have to face her eventually."

He hugged his knees to his chest "I know, but I don't think I'd be able to take the amount of hurt that will inevitably be plastered on her face. Rejection is the worst fucking thing on the planet."

"She'll get over it. It's not your fault that you don't like girls."

"Yeah. I need more time to prepare though. I think I'll stay out here for a day or two."

"Then I'll stay with you." Lynx stated and layed back on her hands.

"Lynx please, they'll be worried about you. You should go back."

"I told you my rule Wolfie. If you're out here, then I'm out here with you."

"Lynx please... just go."

"No!" She objected.

He sighed, "I'll never be able to get rid of you, will I?"

Lynx pretended to ponder how she would answer and smiled smugly "Nope."

Wolf chuckled and patted her head "You're so weird."

"If I wasn't weird you'd be dead." She retorted and curled up to fall asleep.
