Park
Charlie gave her fluffy companion a stern look, waiting for him to do his business. "Come on, buddy, hurry up. I don't have all day." Passersby gave her odd looks, but she ignored them as she continued to coax Doc to relieve himself. "You need to go, buddy. I'm not leaving until you do it. I'm not cleaning up your mess on my expensive pine floors."
They locked eyes, and she urged him, "Just do it."
A familiar voice interrupted, "Maybe try not glaring at him?" She turned to see a pair of amused blue eyes.
"Robbins," she greeted with a smirk. "What are you doing in Seattle?"
Arizona chuckled. "Is that any way to say hello?"
Charlie snorted. "You know I'm not the conventional type. So, what brings you here? Specifically, to this park?"
Arizona gestured to her running outfit of leggings and a sports bra, while Charlie tried not to dwell on her blonde look. Arizona was her favorite person during their challenging intern year, as they were the only two openly gay individuals in their group. "I started running for a change, got bored of the routine at Hopkins."
Charlie nodded in understanding, "I hear you," she said, noticing a smell and discovering that Doc had relieved himself. However, she wasn't happy about the mess he left. "What does Mer feed you?"
Arizona scrunched her nose, "That's gross."
Charlie muttered, "Yeah, can you hold his leash while I..." pointing at the pile of waste. Arizona agreed and took the leash while Charlie cleaned up, trying not to inhale. After disposing of it, she commented, "We need to adjust your diet," before taking back the leash.
"Thanks," Charlie said, grinning. "So, where did you end up working?"
"Mercy West, on a six-month contract to overhaul their pediatrics department. And you?"
Charlie guided Doc to walk slowly,"Seattle Grace, been there for two years now after leaving Cambridge. Got an offer I couldn't turn down," Charlie replied.
Arizona hummed, "You were always the star of our group, no matter how hard I tried to keep up."
Charlie laughed and said, "Don't sell yourself short, it was a challenge to keep up with you. You've always been great with patients, and I learned a lot from watching you, Robbins."
Arizona shook her head and replied, "Still with the Robbins? I thought we were on a first-name basis after that bathroom fuck."
Charlie chuckled and asked, "When did you start using such foul language?"
Arizona shrugged and explained, "Some people took advantage of my kindness, but being an army brat taught me some choice words."
Charlie apologized, "I guess that's what our resident was referring to, right?"
Arizona suggested, "We should catch up over a drink?"
Charlie agreed, "Sure, how about Emerald City Bar? It's just across from Seattle Grace. We can meet tonight and you can fill me in on those who tried to take advantage of you."
Arizona smiled and said, "Sounds good, tonight at eight?"
Charlie nodded, "That works for me. If I can't make it, I'll let you know. You still use the same email, right?"
Maverick place
Charlie took off docs leash and let him roam freely inside when they arrived home, where she found him receiving affection from Meredith as usual.
