If the Ancient Greeks were members of the ton, they might have added to their Olympic pentathlon one additional event.

The hosting of a country visit. This, of course, is the week of Lady Bridgerton's annual Hearts and Flowers Ball, the year's most coveted invitation, in the country, and no event better designed to show the might and mettle of its host.

Lady Violet and Daphne were greeting the guests who just arrived for the before gathering of the Hearts and Flowers ball. Everyone was outside enjoying the nice weather and chattering with one another.

Eloise was talking to her brother Colin, as she saw Agnes from afar chatting with someone. She noticed Agnes's cold demeanor as usual, she inwardly sighed as she thinks of Agnes. They haven't spoken to each other all morning since their last conversation was something that Eloise couldn't even explain to herself. She honestly misses their playful antagonism already. She shook her head as she tuned away just to see Penelope running at her excited.

Eloise mood elevated when she saw Penelope, "Oh, Pen! Oh, you are finally here. With only my own family to speak to, I've begun talking to the trees." She didn't want to mention Agnes to Penelope or tell her what happened and how she's been feeling.

"Is she calling me a wooden?" Colin asked Penelope. "I don't think so." Penelope replied back with a smile.

"I could call him worse." Eloise chuckled. "Is there not another pamphlet on women's rights to read somewhere?" Colin mocked at his sister.

Penelope assumed that Eloise was done with Lady Whistledown. "El is quite done with that."

"She has brought one with her here." Colin exposes his sister. Colin warned Penelope, "Prepare yourself for many a quotation, Pen."

Penelope looked at Eloise with a concern on her face, "The printer's pamphlet? I thought you'd realized he was not connected to Lady Whistledown," Penelope continued on about Whistledown. "Those letter k's have not been smudged for some time now."

"I am just as much interested in their new letters now. It is a rather radical publication, which is why I seem to like it so much," Eloise continued on about the pamphlet on women's rights. "The apprentice there, Mr. Theo Sharpe—"

Penelope interrupted Eloise, "You know his name? Don't you think you're getting into dangerous water? That side of town?"

Eloise stood there defeated, she's trying so hard not to mention that Agnes went with her or more like forced her to go with her.
