But you'll find the real thing instead,
She'll patch up the tapestry that I shred
And hold your hand while dancing
Never leave you standing crestfallen on the landing, with champagne problems

Engfa's POV:

We sat around one table, Lux, Keane and Freen, after we performed some songs for Heidi and Tina. I was currently nursing a glass of champagne as I listened to Keane and Lux talk.

"But seriously, Ing Ing, your sister's gorgeous! And wait, before you pinch me again, she's not my type. I'm just appreciating her beauty. That's all," Lux said with her hands up in the air in mock surrender.

"Don't believe everything she said, Ing, you know her well enough," Keane teased and I just laughed.

"Hey, I don't lie about those things. My eyes are attracted to beautiful women, and I was attracted to Plaifah when I saw her," Lux countered, and I just shook my head.

"Speaking of beautiful woman," Keane started and I saw her turned to Freen, who was silent for a moment now. It's not unusual though, Freen's a bit introverted, and being around people she didn't know would definitely make her act like that, "Who was that woman you're nagging earlier, Freen?"

Now, that caught my attention as I turned my eyes to Freen as well.

Freen didn't even looked up at us as she fixed her gaze on the table, her hand twirling the glass she's currently holding.

"You're nagging someone?" I asked once again when Freen didn't answer Keane's question.

Freen's eyes snapped up to me, giving me her cold, nonchalant look, "Yeah, Charlotte."

----------

"What did you say to her?" I said as soon as I dragged Freen out of ear shots and away from our friends.

"Not much. I just said what needed to be said, and what she needed to hear," Freen shrugged, as if it was nothing.

"Freen," I sighed, "I need more than that,"

"I told her to stay away from you, and she's not worth it." Freen surrendered with an exasperated sigh.

"What?" my eyebrows shot up as I've heard what she just said to Charlotte, "Freen, you shouldn't have said that to her!"

"Why not? You wouldn't so I did it for you. You know if you continue this cat and mouse game with her, you're the only one who'd end up hurt in the end."

"I appreciate your concern, but it's not your place to talk to her like that. You don't even know her," I looked at her displeased, I know she meant well, but I know how Freen talks.

And I couldn't even imagine how she said those words to Charlotte.

"It's enough that I know how she hurt you." she said, and as I looked at her, I saw a hint of guilt in her eyes.

---------

I tried looking for Charlotte inside, but I couldn't find her. As I was in the middle of my search, my eyes landed on the familiar figure of Diana, so I approached her immediately.

"Diana!" I called out to her and she immediately turned, smile occupying her lips as she saw me. "I've been searching for Charlotte but I couldn't find her, do you perhaps know where she is?" I asked as soon as I reached her.
