Do you remember
That fateful day in September
When those people died
And their voices cried
In agony
What made the men so cold, was it the publicity
Was it twisted religion
Just think of all the children
Who lost their parents in the stones and fire
Those loved ones who reluctantly retired
Now you complain about the fight and the economy
But remember it was you who called our men to duty
And now that things are sore
Our men don't even know what they are fighting for
There is no support
And there isn't any comfort
For those that give their lives and their will
Now I know things are rough but still
Remember what we are fighting for
They fought for your freedom they fought the Revolutionary War
They fought for desegregation they fought theCivil War
They fought the world twice so far they fought WWI & WWII
They fought communism for you and me they foughtKorea & Vietnam
But now that things are getting tough
You are all for leaving those men in the rough
They've lost their lives for what were they to leave right now
It would be just as bad if our president were Mao
Has your child come home in a body bag
Thrown by shrapnel like a rag
Mothers cry tears
Fathers realize their fears
All because people didn't support didn't believe
Those poor souls only grieve
For themselves and their possessions
No one cares about confessions
And now
As people go separate ways
And look back on those sad tear filled days
Will you remember
That fateful day in September?
