"You've saved my soul, don't leave me now"

Y/N's hand throbbed the same way it had done for days now.Her detentions were finally over, her sentence had been served and her penance had been payed. She, as Olivia, remained silent in her lessons, her writing hand shaking and aching when she had to use it, having completed another all night detention to round off the fortnight. Above all else, she was morbidly ashamed about her outburst. Dumbledore had not mentioned it to her- he still had not been in his office whenever she went for her potion, but she knew he would be frustrated with her. He had needed her to be quiet, and to gain the trust of everyone at the school- both staff and students. So, in attempt at redemption, she went from lesson to lesson, no complaints, no arguing, nothing.

Umbridge revelled in the success of her detentions. She tested Olivia several times, discrediting Harry Potter's story to her sixth year class, but there was no reaction from the student. She remained looking down at her book, or her work. The swell of pleasure that hit Umbridge whenever she saw Y/N's trembling hand around her quill, the other buried in her robes, was a high that she was sure no drug could give her.

Y/N knew that Umbridge's frequent sly comments and not so hidden references back to that night, dismissing any possibility of the truth, made Cedric feel even worse than he already did. She could see out of the corner of her eye as he tensed up, and he had even disclosed to her that it all made him feel like even more of an idiot. But still, she didn't defend anyone or stand up to Umbridge. She would control her feelings. She would play her part.

"-ull moon tonight." She overheard someone whisper from behind her. She wasn't sure what they had been discussing, but it triggered something within her. A thought, a memory.

"I know! At least we don't have Professor Werewolf here anymore, none of us will become dog food!" The two girls giggled, threatening Y/N's composure. Defensive rage burst in her. Any deeper feelings aside, Remus had been their best defence against the dark arts teacher. Granted, it wasn't hard to earn that role. Between Quirrel-Voldemort, Lockhart, fake Moody, and now Umbridge, Lupin was the best by a long shot, no competition. Y/N didn't like him not getting the credit he deserved just because of a condition he had no control over.

She would never admit it, but she wasn't actually capable of putting any feelings aside, and her defensive rage was mostly due to the latent feelings for the man.

Her protectiveness was replaced as their words sunk in more- it was a full moon tonight. Dread overtook any other feeling. He would be in pain right now, as the two girls gossiped behind her. He would be alone. This would be the second full moon since the start of term at Hogwarts, but it would be the first that Y/N had known that Remus was here. The thought of him turning, alone, in pain, made her want to cry. A plan began forming in her head, and she was resolved to make it happen before she could think of any reasons it may not be a good idea.

She rushed eating her dinner, receiving many odd looks from those around her, who wondered why she could possibly be scarfing down her food so quickly. It put them one edge, and they wondered if they too should hurry eating, though they weren't sure of any reason why.

"Guys, I've got to go. I'm meeting the twins in the library for some studying and I don't want to keep them waiting, sorry!"

Her friends at the Hufflepuff table were too baffled at Olivia's weird behaviour to remember that they had seen the twins earlier on at dinner. Luckily, Y/N had watched them leave dinner early, cementing her excuse. No one would know that it was her who had sent them the note telling them that a surprise waited for them in the library. Plus, she was sure they'd appreciate the invisibility potions she had hidden from them, taking from the stash she had made sure to bring with her in her trunk.
