"Long live the walls we crashed through."

Y/N was stood waiting outside the Gryffindor common room when she heard them talking. She didn't know she had been that far in the shadows until she heard Harry, the twins, Ron, Hermione and Neville leaving the portrait hole, hushed tones of secrecy shared between them, unknowingly also sharing with Y/N.

"What if she finds out though? Especially now she's got that stupid gang doing her dirty work."

"Inquisitorial squad, Ron."

"They could be the bloody 'Auror in Training' mob for all I care Hermione, they're still doing her dirty work."

"Regardless, she won't find out. We need this."

"Dumbledore's Army is supposed to be about coming together to fight evil though, right Harry?" Neville asked.

From her lurking and darting from one dark corner to the next, she saw Harry nod slowly. She had heard enough, and decided it was time for her to intervene.

"Dumbledore's what?"

All six of them jumped and turned around, terrified of being overheard by someone more dangerous than their friend who they were relieved to see staring back at them, no matter how mad she seemed.

"You've organised a secret magic army and didn't even tell me? Rude."

"It's more of a... training opportunity." George added.

"Great, are we going there now?" Y/N could sense that this had not been requested or even approved by Dumbledore, and thought it best for her to join to help keep an eye on things when no one else could. Harry was about to protest, but Y/N stopped him.

"Oh Harry, we all know that you are good at magic, but we also all know that I am simply, better." She half joked, though everyone knew it was true. They weren't privy to her secret mission from a few years ago, but they had seen her abilities in other ways, and Harry had been witness to the extraordinary patronus that had sent her straight to Dumbledore- that had to have been a sure sign of the girl's magic. "I won't tell anyone, I swear. No one else will know it's me, they'll still think it's just the random Olivia girl." She was right, and they needed her, they all knew it. Without looking to see what the other's reactions would be, Harry nodded, agreeing to her request.

Things at Hogwarts were getting worse with every passing day. Umbridge was doing more and more to gain total control over the school, and everyone was waiting for the day her power surpassed that of even Dumbledore's, a moment that Y/N was sure would be coming soon.

She had tried to assert this dominance once, attempting to remove Professor Trelawney from the castle, but luckily Dumbledore had stepped in. Not many students particularly cared for Trelawney or her subject, but even they had felt sick watching her cry, so vulnerable, in the middle of the courtyard. Y/N had to bite her cheek to stop herself from running over and interfering- it wasn't Olivia's place, and it would have gone against her promise to stay under the radar. She was just about to give in to the empathy that pulsed through her and stop Umbridge from this latest barbaric act when the doors open and Dumbledore glided across the floor, his power and grace palpable through the air.
