Sam's POV

The first day of university was a blur of new faces, lectures, and the hustle of finding my way around campus. My department [MBA] professors are good, they made sure I am getting comfortable in this new place.

I made new friends and they are actually nice Selene, Wendy both are from California and same major as me.

They keep telling me how they joined this university. I am enjoying their company. My mind kept drifting back to the man I had bumped into this morning. His voice had a haunting familiarity, but I couldn't place it.

After my classes, I headed to the campus café for a much-needed coffee. As I waited in line, I absentmindedly scrolled through my phone, hoping to distract myself from the nagging thoughts.

I ordered my coffee, i am not a coffee person I am more like milk person (sounds weird but yeah) and found a quiet corner to sit and unwind. The day had been overwhelming, and I needed a moment to process everything.

Nick's POV

Years of hard work and learning now I had my own hospital, a testament to my dedication and hard work. But despite the achievements, an emptiness gnawed at me, a void that had grown since I lost contact with Sam. I often found solace in the sterile environment of my hospital, where the demands of my job kept my mind occupied.

My colleagues, Scott and Justin, got habituated to my cold demeanour. They knew better than to pry into my personal life, but they remained by my side, providing silent support. James, my best friend, was the only one who occasionally dared to ask about the change in me. "You used to be more cheerful, Nick. What happened?" he'd ask, but I'd always deflect, unwilling to reveal the depths of my heartache.

It had been years since I'd last seen Sam, I never saw but I feel her when I talk to her like she is here with me. The last message she'd sent was still saved on my old phone—a relic from a past that seemed like a distant dream. I never told anyone about her, about how we used to chat for hours, sharing dreams and secrets. I wish I still had her with me. I miss her

The day started like any other. I was reviewing patient files when James walked into my office. "Hey, Nick. How are you man. It's been a while since we hung out.”

I looked up, asked “James when you came back?”

James- Just today and you know Paris was amazing and blah blah

We thought to catch up later but he has to leave as he got a call.
