Sam POV

*Few days later*

I came back to my house after spending some time in nicks house. My room looked like a tornado had hit it-clothes strewn everywhere, creating a chaotic mess. I was sitting on my bed, anxiously tapping my leg as I contemplated what to wear. It was my first date with Nick, and I wanted to look my best. He told me to be ready by 6 PM and to wear something comfortable, but I should have asked him where he was taking me.

I sighed, feeling overwhelmed, and then remembered Varshini. She always knew the best fashion advice. Maybe she could help, but I couldn't tell her it was a date. I'll say it's a birthday party instead.

I grabbed my phone and started a WhatsApp video call with Varshini. She picked up almost immediately.

"Hey, babe!" Varshini's cheerful face appeared on the screen.

"What's up?"

"Hey, Varsh," I said, trying to sound casual. "I need your help. I have this birthday party to go to, and I have no idea what to wear."

Varshini raised an eyebrow, a smirk forming on her lips. "A birthday party, huh? Sure, Sam. Let me see what you're working with."

I turned the camera to show her the disaster zone that was my room. She gasped dramatically. "Girl, did a tornado hit your room?"

"Feels like it," I muttered. "Help me, Varsh. I need to look good."

"Okay, okay, let's see what you've got." Varshini directed me to show her different outfits. She vetoed a few, and we finally settled on a chic yet comfortable outfit: a flowy dress that was both stylish and easy to move in, paired with cute sandals.

"Perfect," Varshini said, satisfied. "You look amazing. Now, tell me more about this 'birthday party.'"

I laughed nervously. "It's just a casual thing. Nothing big."

"Uh-huh," Varshini said, not buying it. "And who's going to be there?"

"Just some friends," I replied, avoiding her gaze.

"Friends, huh? Any special friend?" Varshini's smirk widened.

"Varsh," I groaned. "It's just a party."

"Sure, sure," she said, rolling her eyes playfully. "You better call me afterward and tell me all about it."

"Will do," I promised.

As the call ended, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. I quickly got dressed, following Varshini's advice. I did my hair in loose waves and applied light makeup. By the time I was done, it was almost 6 PM.
Just as I finished getting ready, I heard the doorbell ring. My heart raced as I walked to the door.
