Next few days we started preparing for the next attack, we had caught sight of some Rogues near the edge of the territory of the Moonlight pack, and as we sat in the war room talking about strategy they were all ready to send everybody back to the Moonlight pack to prepare for that attack, but what if it was a distraction. the more I think about it it didn't make sense, yeah they attacked the Moonlight pack before but were the closest to the Palace, and we were attacked with the least amount of forces compared to what the palace got.
" we will send 3/4 of the troops back to the Moonlight pack for you to protect your people" King Malachi said to ryan, him and I are a completely different topic, we still have spent time together alone but nobody knows that he's my mate yet. we haven't really talked about when we would share that.
" we'll go tonight" Alpha Darius said nodding in agreement, a few of the other Alphas agreed including the two that I absolutely despise Victor and carl.
" no" I said firmly unable to bite my tongue any longer, this caught the attention of everybody Malachi glared at me slightly, but he didn't scream at me like you should have for counteracting his decision. he was King what he said goes, and even though I was his mate that wasn't known to the public so me talking back would be a big problem.
" do you have something to say beta Chiro" King Malachi said his tone cold as usual his face stoic as he added a mocking tone to the part where he said my name and title.
I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of everyone's eyes on me. My mind raced, searching for the right words to articulate my concerns without undermining the authority of the king.
"Yes, I do," I said, my voice steady despite the nervous energy buzzing beneath my skin. "Sending three-quarters of our troops back to the Moonlight pack might be exactly what the enemy wants. It doesn't make sense for them to attack the Moonlight pack directly when they could use it as a distraction to weaken the palace's defenses."
A murmur of surprise and skepticism rippled through the room. Malachi's glare intensified, but he remained silent, waiting for me to continue.
"Think about it," I pressed on, meeting each Alpha's gaze. "The attack on the Moonlight pack was significant, but the attack on the palace was more intense. It feels like they're trying to split our forces, to spread us thin. If we send most of our troops back to the Moonlight pack, the palace could be left vulnerable to a more coordinated attack."
Victor and Carl exchanged skeptical glances before Victor spoke up. "And what makes you so sure that this isn't just a straightforward attack on the Moonlight pack? You're assuming a lot, Beta Chiro."
"I am," I admitted, nodding. "But we have to consider all possibilities. What if the rogues are counting on us to make this exact move? They know our patterns, our strategies. We need to be smarter than them."
Malachi's expression softened ever so slightly as he considered my words. "What do you suggest, then?" he asked, his tone still cold but lacking the mockery from before.
"Divide our forces more strategically," I proposed. "Send a portion back to the Moonlight pack, but keep a substantial number here to protect the palace. We should also send scouts to monitor rogue movements more closely. If they're planning a larger attack, we need to be ready to respond quickly and decisively."
Alex and Victor scoffed and for the first time I had heard Alpha Christopher finally spoke up, " I don't think that's the right move, would you like your pack to be killed, and innocent children be slaughtered?" Alpha Christopher was the alpha of the night pack. he was one of the quieter ones didn't really speak up as much Between him and the alpha of the Mountain pack, Reese they were the quietest.
