"The Wind Is Picking Up-"

A large, circular building with a dome roof, built on an island of rock in the center of a lake.
An extremely odd place for a building to be.
The dock that led from the edge of the water to the entrance was old and untrustworthy, but in your minds eye you could vaguely see when the the dock was solid, the whitewash new, and smoke puffed out through the small metal chimney.
Nathan, Derek, Teddy and the unconscious form of Jacob huddled under a giant tree for a quick conversation. There they could speak at a decent level that didn't strain their voices as much.
"Come on guys why are we stopping?" Derek asked, unconsciously rubbing at his leg.
Nathan glanced at Teddy who immediately spoke up. "Think Derek."
Derek looked so done. "I'm not a moron. What."
"-may not be a moron, but he's definitely crazy." Nathan murmured.
"I heard that princess sparkles."
"Would you guys shut it!" Teddy snapped.
Both the guys stopped mid sentence.
Teddy swallowed hard. "I just want to ask some important questions. First one being, why is there a abandoned building this far into the woods. I mean, come on. There's no roads, passageways or trails leading to or from this place."
"He's right." Derek said, "Shouldn't there be trails where the workers came in. -Unless the trees grow extremely fast around here, I don't see-"
"Guys," Nathan laid a hand on Jacob's chest. "I don't think we have time to argue about this."
The unconscious form of Jacob lay on his back, slowly coughing up blood, which was sent dribbling down his face.
Nathan's brow furrowed. "He's not doing well."
"We need to find shelter." Teddy's voice became very serious.
"Now."

Nathan and Teddy waited at the edge of the dock, watching for Derek's signal to cross. The rain was still falling heavily, drenching their clothes and adding to the weight they already had to carry.
At one point the boys thought Derek was going to fall in the water after a board broke beneath his foot, but when all he did was fall flat on his back, they urged him on.
Derek, relieved to have finally made it, leaned against the door in exhaustion. Slowly he pushed against the door, putting all his effort into it, but it didn't budge.
"Guys!" Dark called out from the entrance. "I think something's blocking the door! I'm going to check around back."
Nathan felt anxious about Derek being separated from them, so he jokingly shouted to Derek. "Don't go dying on us!"
Derek gave him a thumbs up as he made his way around back.
The guitarist quickly found that the backyard resembled something of a muggy swamp, waterlogged and filled with scraps of metal. Derek sloshed through the ankle deep water and poked around.
He found rusty metal shelves, shattered picture frames of old news paper clippings, and some broken equipment, all half sunk into the mud.
The heck is all this junk??
The rain had finally let up and Derek spotted an entrance.
He half jogged to the elevated doorstep and gave the handle a good yank. The door came swinging open and almost catapulted Derek into the murky abyss. He only survived by clinging to the side of the door.
Once he regained his footing he peeked his head inside the door and got a waft of dank, stale air. Apparently the place had been abandoned for quite awhile.
"HelloooOOoo."
His voice bounced off the concrete walls and echoed down the hallway.
"Creepy.."
Once Derek confirmed that the place was reasonably safe, he called the guys over.
"This is nice." Teddy said, his voice laced with sarcasm.
"This isn't time for sarcasm." Nathan said, sounding reasonably worried.
"Oh come on, lighten up will ya."
"Lighten up? With Jacob half dead!"
While Teddy and Nathan were arguing and flailing their hands around, Derek went on ahead.
The place would have been pitch black if the back door wasn't swung wide open. The light, as bright as it may be, gradually faded into a chasm of darkness sending chills up Derek's spine.
"Hey!"
Their heads popped up like daisy's.
"Hand me your flashlight." Derek said, to no one in particular.
Nathan tossed him his flashlight and Derek clicked it on.
The stone corridor, now illuminated by a tinted yellow light, stretched on for what seemed like an eternity.
"Hey guys, is it just me or does this place feel a little-" Derek didn't know how to put it.
"-bigger on the inside."
"Ya." Teddy said, setting Jacob gingerly on the pavement. "It's oddly big compared to how it looks."
"Pick 'em back up!" Nathan said sharply.
Teddy gave him a hard glance, realized his error, then continued talking. "Derek. You go ahead and make sure there's nothing for us to trip on."
"Aye aye sir."
Derek jogged, putting the least amount of pressure on his leg as possible, and made his was down the hall.
He passed several doors on either side of him and stopped to look through the window of one.
He rubbed at the dust with the end of his sleeve and peaked through. What he saw was a six foot tall tank of green sludge which he assumed, was originally, a container of fresh water. A rolling chair laid on It's side on the ground in front of it.
Derek grunted, confused about the purpose of this place.
He turned his head and spotted a curved corridor perpendicular to the one he was traveling.
He could hear Nathan and Teddy's conversation in the background.
"I wonder if this place has a bathroom."
"Wow, you ask the important questions."
Derek shook his head.
Those guys are such derps.
He crept up to the threshold of the odd corridor and peeked his head around.
Suddenly a gust a wind came from outside and closed the metal door with a deafening chink. A muffled gasp came from Teddy as they all tried to ajust their eyes to the sudden darkness.
Derek watched as dim blue lights lining the corridor gradually became visible in the deepening darkness.
"Derek!" Nathan's voice sounded flustered.
Derek rushed over.
Nathan was kneeling on the ground hovering over Jacobs body while Teddy stood above with a flashlight.
Nathan's face looked stressed. "Listen. Do you hear that?"
Derek and Teddy leaned in.
Jacob's breathing was erratic. His breaths were uneven and short, causing the already heightened levels of stress to become even higher.
"Come on." Teddy urged them on. "We need to find someplace to rest."
"Well there's a hella creepy corridor up ahead," Derek said, jerking his thumb in the general direction. "So I'm pretty sure there's some place in here where we can lay low."

Did you catch that Doctor Who reference? Hehe

I feel that in serious situations I make my characters say something sarcastic. Is that just me?

Is it okay if I give myself a high-five, cause I'm so proud of how my writing has improved since I first started. I still cringe at my first chapter. Eghh.. *shiver*

Annnd one more thing. I think I have a WB sequel in the making. Sooo.. if y'all like the idea.. I'll probably do it. I won't give out the title, but you can refer to it as T.A.C.
