Chapter 5: Piecing The Puzzle

Malaya has been waiting in the dark for awhile
Malaya: *sighs* Ok, this is not working. Guess I have to go out and look for people
Malaya walks out and searches around her
Eventually, she finds something interesting
Malaya: Huh. That looks like a shelter made from bookshelves. Maybe one of the soldiers are there
She walks closer to it
She calls out ahead of her
Malaya: Hello?? Can anyone hear me??
There's silence for a moment, but she gets a reply
???: Hello?? Someone there?
Malaya: It's me, Malaya! Or May!
???: May!!
Malaya stops as Cinderace jumps up and keep the wall of bookshelves she moved to make her shelter
Cinderace: May!!
Malaya: Cinderace!!
The two run to each other and hug
Malaya: Oh, I'm so happy to have found someone!😊
Cinderace: Yeah, me too. Luckily you caught me before I dozed off😅
The two chuckle and smile at each other
Malaya: Any idea where your master is?
Cinderace: I've been listening for him. Can't make out a good guy from a bad one. The only way we'll find him is if we wall around, and that should be easier when your not alone😉
Cinderace nudges Malayas arm with her fist
Malaya smiles
Malaya: True. Let's go find Gray!
The two set off in a random direction, listening for others
*Before the Monty fight*
Incineroar continues to follow Corrupted Monty
He follows him for a little while longer until Corrupted Monty turned a corner and sounded like he stopped for some reason
Incineroar raised his eyebrow and looked around the corner and was shocked
Corupted Monty was gone!
Incineroar: What?! Impossible! How'd he leave without me hearing him??
Incineroar looks around
No sign of Corrupted Monty
But then Incineroar hears heavy footsteps again
These footsteps seem more aggressive, like stomping
He gets ready to blast him with fire
The heavy footsteps stop when they turn the corner, looking at Incineroar and smiling
Incineroar: Blastoise!
Blastoise: Hey, bud!
The two meet with each other and hug
Incineroar: Have you seen a Corrupted Monty around?
Blastoise shakes his head
Blastoise: I haven't seen anyone, monster or Ally, so I'm glad I found you👍
Incineroar: Same here😊
Blastoise inspects Incineroars Body
Blastoise: You're hurt!
Incineroar: Huh? Oh, that. Don't worry about me, big guy. I'm all good👍
Blastoise gives Incineroar a worried look
Incineroar smiles and gently nudges Blastoises arm with his fist
Incineroar: Hey! Don't give me that look! I'm fine, I swear.
Blastoise sighs and smiles
Blastoise: If you say so...but with me with you, you should be fine anyway
Incineroar: Got that right😉 Quite the bodyguard, you are
Blastoise chuckles
Blastoise: Yeah, yeah. Anyways, we should be getting a move on to find the others
Incineroar: Right!
Blastoise and Incineroar move forward, keeping a sharp eye out for Allies
Shadow continues following Corrupted Foxy
The area begins to grow darker and darker
Eventually, Shadow doesn't hear Corrupted Foxy anymore
Shadow: What the?! Where'd he go??
The lights flash on, and Corrupted Foxy vanished
Shadow: Damn it! Wait...
Shadow thinks for a moment, before it hits him
Foxy knew Shadow was following him, so he dragged him to a random place, probably where he wouldn't find anything but trouble perhaps
Shadow: *whispers to himself* That sly little fox...
Shadow tries to figure out his next move when he hears something running down the hall in front of him
He readies his gun and the figure stands in front of Shadow
Shadow lowers his gun
Shadow: Tails?
Tails: Shadow! Didn't think I'd find you here! I'm looking for Sonic. I think he's somewhere around here
Shadow: *in head* Maybe Foxy didn't know I was following him...*
Tails: Follow me!
Tails runs off
Shadow nods and chases after Tails with his Jet Boots
Eventually, the two come to a hault as their target is right their, facing a door on the wall in front of them
Tails: Sonic!!!
Sonic gets startled and spins around but quickly smiles widely
Sonic: Tails!!!
The two run to and hug each other
Sonic: Oh, I missed you, bud😊
Tails: Same here, blue leader! That I was on you're *raises tail* tail😉
Sonic and Tails laugh
Sonic: Wait, I don't have a tail😅
Tails: Oh, that's right!...
The two look at each other for a moment
Sonic: Shadow! What's up, man?
Tails and Sonic chuckle
Shadow: Hmph. Been better
Sonic: Haha I feel you there, buddy! Check on this weird door I found
Sonic points behind him with his thumb
Shadow and Tails glance at each other before letting their curiosity take over and walk with Sonic to the door
Tails scans the door
Tails: Hmmmm🤔 I'm detecting a large amount of energy readings
Shadow: Hmmmm...
Shadow grabs the golden skull shaped door knob with emerald eyes and opens the door
What they saw was unbelievable
It was...
A...
Dock?
The three looked at each other and headed onto the Dock
Once they were all on the Dock, the door slammed behind them and faded away
The three assumed this was some kind of "challenge room", and they had to complete a task to get back
They walked to the end of the dock
Tails: There's not much here...
Sonic: There has to be something
Shadow: Hmmm...
The three look around
Tails: Wait, I think I see something out there!
The other two look where Tails points, and they see it to
Whatever it was, it was BIG and heading straight for them
Shadow loads his gun, but Tails reassures him and puts his hand ontop of it
Tails: Wait, my scanner says in inanimate
As the shape got closer, the three realized Tails was right, it wasn't some kind of beast
It was a huge pirate ship!
Sonic: Cool!
Sonic climbs aboard
Tails: The craftsmanship is incredible!

Shadow: It's not bad, I suppose.

Sonic: Who wants to st-
Just then, the boat started moving
Tails: Looks like this boat is auto pilot, Sonic😅😂
Sonic: I guess so😅😂 That makes the ship even cooler!
Shadow: I'm more concerned of where it's taking us
Tails: Oh, yeah, fair point
The three look ahead
Nothing but water...
Tails: Huh...
The three head back to the deck of the ship
Tails: What are we supposed to do?
Sonic: Maybe the ship is taking us to the-
Just then, Sonic is cut off when a harpoon/grappling hook pierces through the back of the ship and almost impales the three when it shoots between them
Tails: Whoa!!
The three stared at the hook before it started being pulled backwards toward them
The three dodged out of the way
The ship drastically slowed down...
Tails' heart dropped
Tails: I think another ship is onto us...
The crew climbed up to the wheel of the ship
Suddenly, the sky grew clouds with rain clouds and heavy fog appeared
Sonic: This doesn't seem good...
Tails: Think you can shoot that rope loose down there from the harpoon with your gun, Shadow?
Shadow: Hmmm. Maybe. Good idea, fox
Shadow pulled out his M-16 and shot at tye rope, but it wouldn't budge
Shadow: Of course...
Tails: Wait...
Tails inspects the rope
Tails: There's some Corrupted black stuff on rope
Shadow: Wait, really?
Shadow looks at the rope
Shadow: Hmmm
Tails: You think that's what protecting it?
Shadow: Yeah, I know it is. I ran into Corrupted Foxy and I shot him and that Corrupted shit on him blocked my bullets
Sonic: Great. Now they have a shield
Tails looks out into water and gasps
Shadow and Sonic look where Tails does
Tails: Looks like they have a ship, too, and it's way bigger than ours...
The three stare in astonishment as this monster of a ship charges for their ship
Tails: What do we do?!
The three think frantically when at the last second the big ship recalls its grappling hook and and turns to be side by side their boat on the left
The three climb down to the dock and look over at the ship
It was massive...
They looked to see who the captain was
Shadow scowls and loads his gun
Shadow: I should've known...
The captain was none other than Corrupted Foxy
Corupted Foxy: Yar Har Har, Mateys! Glad ye could join thee party! Now, let me show you a real Captain's jig, Har Har Har!
Cannons emerge from Corrupted Foxys ships side, loaded and ready to blast
Shadow: Shit! Take cover!!
The three hide as the cannons fire at their ship while Corrupted Foxy lets out a maniacal pirate laugh
A Cannon ball smashes a box right in front of Tails
Tails: Ahh! What do we do?
Shadow: *Grunts as a Cannon smashes an object next to him* We gotta take out his shield!
Sonic: How would we do that?? *narrowly dodges cannon ball* Whoa!
Shadow looks around as the cannons shred their ship apart
Shadow spots cannons on their ship
Shadow: We have cannons too! Someone get on them!
Tails: On it!
Tails reaches one of the cannons
Tails: It's empty!
Shadow: Damn! Sit tight. Sonic and I will look around for ammo
Shadow and Sonic search for cannon balls
Tails continuously dodged cannon balls
Tails: Hey, that one was close!
Corrupted Foxy: Not close enough, lad! Yar Har Har!! This sea be only big enough for one pirate fox!
Corrupted Foxy raises his hook with a sinister grin
Tails looks around and spots a Cannon ball behind a barrel
He acts as if he running away to throw Foxy off while he is actually running to the cannon ball
He hides it in his Tails and pretends to aimlessly run, making Corrupted Foxy laugh
He makes his way to the cannon and loads it and lights it
Tails: I agree!😎
Tails fires the cannon and blasts Corrupted Foxy
Shadow runs out onto the deck
Shadow: Huh. Not bad, little guy
Tails: Thanks😉
Sonic runs out onto the deck with a handful of cannon balls and drops them in the middle of the deck
Sonic: This should be enough to get through the fight👍
The other two nod and three group turn to face Corrupted Foxy
Corrupted Foxy: *chuckles* Not bad, lad! But let's see how long you last against a captain in combat! Yar Har Har!
Corupted Foxy climbs up the flag pole of his ship and swings from a rope to launch himself on the other ships deck
Corrupted Foxy pulls out his sword and gets ready for battle
Tails readies his gadgets
Shadow spins his gun around and gets ready to fire
Sonic warms up his legs
Corrupted Foxy roars and lunges at Tails with his sword
Tails hops backwards to dodge and fires an Electro Ball at Corrupted Foxy while using his tails to hover in the air

Sonic uses Homing Attack on Corrupted Foxy

Corrupted Foxy spins around and shoots his Pirate Hand Cannon at Sonic
Tails uses Electro Spray on Corrupted Foxy

Corrupted Foxy: Heh, looks like captain Foxy underestimated ye. Most mates would be dead by now. Ye three must be special. Alrighty then let's see how you handle this!
Corrupted Foxy jumps back to his ship
He gets back on the wheel and fires his cannons their ship, but this time, he sends skeletons pirates to board their ship!
Corrupted Foxy: Yar Har Har! Get em, mateys!!
The skeletons pirates get onto the three's ship
Shadow: I'll take care of these guys. Tails, load the cannon. Sonic, watch Tails' back
Sonic and Tails nod as they head over to a Cannon ball
Shadow lays waste to the skeletons with his gun
A few come up behind him and Slash him, but Shadow dodges and finishes them off with his combat and a few more bullets
Shadow reloads his gun and runs to the others
Sonic bashes some skeletons as Tails grabs another cannon ball and puts it in the cannon
Tails fires it and blasts Foxy once again
Corrupted Foxy: Yar...these are starting to hurt! You'll pay for that, ye rat!
Corrupted Foxy jumps aboard their boat and calls a few more of his skeleton pirates
Shadow: Shit!
The skeleton pirates keep Sonic and Shadow busy, leaving Corrupted Foxy alone with Tails
Corrupted Foxy readies his sword
Tails' gadget morphs into a sword
Corrupted Foxy: Time to see who be thee better fox! Ha Ha Ha!
Tails: I already know😎 I'm the smarter one too😉
Corrupted Foxy growls and goes for Tails
Tails blocks with his sword
The two sword fight for a bit, but eventually, Corrupted Foxys captain and swordsman skills overpower Tails as his sword is knocked out of his hand and into the water, along with all his gadgets
Tails spins around to see his gadgets flying into the water
Tails holds out his hand
Tails: No!!!
Corrupted Foxy impales Tails with his sword
Corrupted Foxy: Sorry, matey. Even if you were the smarter one, you weren't the better swordsman😈
Corrupted Foxy rips out his sword as Tails covers up his wound in his chest with his hand as he falls to his knees and onto the ground

Shadow and Sonic finish the skeletons
They look up at Corrupted Foxy and see the blood on his sword
Shadow and Sonic gasp
Shadow: No...
Tears flow down Sonic face
Sonic: TAILS!!!!
Corrupted Foxy jumps down
Corrupted Foxy: Sorry, mateys. Just be business
Sonic yells in anger
Sonic charges up a spindash and dashes toward Foxy
Corrupted Foxy points his sword straight ahead of him as Sonic dashes straight into it,  his brain and pinning the handle of the Sword into the wall behind them

Shadow: Sonic!!
Corrupted Foxy laughs evily
Corrupted Foxy: Ye and your crew not be cut out for this, Har Har Har!
Shadow scowls at Corrupted Foxy
Shadow: We'll see about that...
Shadow dual wields two M-16s and shreds Corrupted Foxy with bullets

Shadow strikes Corrupted across the face with the heel of his jet boot

He jumps up and smiles
Corrupted Foxy: Ye be tougher than the other two, lad! Too bad yer little adventure ends here
Corrupted Foxy jumps back to his ship
Shadow quickly dashes to a Cannon ball and loads it in a Cannon
He's about to fire when Corrupted Foxy sends a large amount of skeleton pirates to his ship
Shadow dual wields two Shotguns
The skeletons charge Shadow
Shadow spins his Shotguns around as he lays waste to them with shells and combat
Corrupted Foxy fires Cannons at Shadow
Shadow dodges them and makes his way to the cannon and blasts Corrupted Foxy
Corrupted Foxy: Yar, I be getting tired of this game😡 Whatever, your ships goin' down anyways
Shadow realizes he's right
The ship was sinking fast
Shadow gains speed and momentum from running around and jumps to Corrupted Foxys ship
Corrupted Foxy: Yar! Not bad, laddie! You've managed to impress this old fox. Ye got guts. It'll be pain to clean them off my deck😈
Corrupted Foxy jumps down onto the deck with Shadow
Corrupted Foxy goes to pull out his sword before he realizes he doesn't have it
Corrupted Foxy: Barnacles! I lost me sword when I dealing with that blue bilge rat earlier. No matter...
Corrupted Foxy spins his hook around
Corrupted Foxy: ...this should be more than enough to finish thee job😈
Shadow gets his Shotgun out and cocks it
Shadow stares coldy at Corrupted Foxy, a fire burning in his eyes as he remembers what Foxy did to his friends and what they meant to him

Shadow pulls out his other Shotgun and blasts Corrupted Foxys right eye with it
Corrupted Foxy screams in pain as he releases Shadow from his hook

Shadow grabs his other Shotgun and blasts Corrupted Foxy with his Shotguns at the same time

Shadow stares lifelessly back at Corrupted Foxys corpse before dropping his Shotguns and falls to the ground as he bleeds out
Shadow thinks about all his friends and smiles at the good times he had with them as he perishes

Corrupted Foxy dissolves into the ground, revealing a red gem
The red gem teleports to the Backrooms and replaces the golden skull doorknob with itself
Foot steps approach the door
???: How unfortunate. Thought that fox could pull it off. Oh well, guess I can use this to get rid of those other pests
A large, brown, metallic Corrupted hand rips the red gem out of its socket, causing the door to disappear as the figure walks off
