Chapter 4: The Weakness

Grayson continues on
Grayson: This is such a weird feeling. Like, I feel like I shouldn't be here, but I'm also feeling like I'm close to something
Grayson just kept walking until he found out he was right
He was close to something
At the end if the room was darkness, but sneaking red glowed in it
Grayson tilted his head before creeping forward, cocking his Shotgun
He points the gun at the glowing object
As he gets closer, he realizes it was a door
But not just any door...
This one was different...
This one was special...
And this one was important...
Grayson knew that
He stood in front of the door
He looked down at the doorknob
That's what was glowing
It was a golden skull with a golden doorknob in its open mouth
The skeletons eyes were made of shiny emeralds
Grayson hesitated, but curiosity got the better of him as he grabbed the doorknob
Grayson: *In head* Alright, already halfway there, Ellis. Just do it
Grayson takes a deep breathe and nods as he slowly twists the doorknob, part of him hoping it was locked
He twists it as much as he can before it stops
Grayson pushes the door open
He couldn't belive what he saw
It was a massive...
Mini-Golf course?
Grayson: What? I was expecting something more dangerous. This door seemed to point to this being some type of special area
Grayson walked in, but once he entered, the door slammed behind him
Grayson: What?!
Grayson runs to the door
There was no doorknob, and the door was indestructible
Grayson noticed something where a doorknob should be
There was a gray, stone hole
It looked like some item was required to open the door
Grayson: What could the item be?
Grayson thought for a moment before he heard some kind of machine starting up behind him
He spun around to see some kind of sky ride show up
The carriers that you would ride in looked like gators
Graysons heart dropped
Corrupted Monty showed up on the side of one
Corrupted Monty roared and dropped down to Graysons level
Grayson hid behind a fake tree
Corrupted Monty: Gotta admit, kid, it's impressive you found my room, but it all ends here
Grayson realized what he meant and his heart skipped a beat
The item that would open the door was a Corrupted heart gem, and killing Corrupted Monty was the only way for him to get one
Either Corrupted Monty dies, or Grayson does
Grayson thinks frantically
Corrupted Monty patrols the area
Grayson takes a deep breath and nods to himself
Grayson: Ok, I got this!
Grayson grabs his Sniper Rifle and aims it at Corrupted Monty
Graysons about to shoot before he notices something
Grayson: That black, Corrupted stuff on his body seems to be protecting him! Maybe there's something in here to disable its shield
Grayson looks around
Doesn't see anything
Grayson: I'll have to explore without him finding me
Grayson pulls out his Shotgun and creeps along a path
Grayson notices that Corrupted Monty was on the other side of the course, so he was safe for now
Grayson walks along the path for a little longer before he notices something in the distance
It was a Cannon!
Grayson: That could get rid of his shield!
Grayson glanced at Corrupted Monty
Corrupted Monty was still a ways away, so Grayson made his move
Running at a mild jog to avoid making too much noise, he headed toward the cannon
He reached the cannon
He had a clear shot on Corrupted Monty
He loaded the cannon and blasted Corrupted Monty across the map
Grayson: Woo! Bullseye!
Corrupted Montys shied shattered
Corrupted Monty: Ahh! You've done it now, kid!!
Corrupted Monty charges for Grayson
Grayson pulls put his Sniper and gets a few shots on Corrupted Monty

Grayson: Shoot!
Grayson dives out of the way and Corrupted Monty smashes the cannon
Two bombs fly out and land in front of Grayson
Grayson: These must be what you shot him with. Looks like they explode on impact. Handy
Grayson collects the bombs
Corrupted Monty roars and leaps toward Grayson
Corrupted Monty punches Grayson, knocking him back a ways

Grayson lands on the ground, but quickly jumps up
Corrupted Monty jumps up again
Grayson dodges to the side as Corrupted Monty smashes the ground beside him with his arms
Grayson pulls out his Shotguns and blasts Corrupted Monty

Corrupted Monty roars and raises his arm to strike Grayson when he is hit with a powerful magic blast of some kind from the side, creating a large explosion and smoke

Corrupted Monty is knocked to the ground
Corrupted Monty sits up to look at his attackers and growls
Grayson turns around and couldn't be happier
Gardevoir: Nobody touches my master!
Retrospecter: Step away from my little man, man.
Grayson: Gardevoir! Retro!!
Grayson runs to his friends as they di the same
Grayson gets squeezed by Gardevoir and Retro
Grayson: I'm so happy to see you guys!
Gardevoir rubs Graysons back
Gardevoir: Same to you, master😊 I thought I was getting close to you, and now, I'm never leaving your side. I missed you🥰
Retrospecter: Same here, man. I got your back and nothing can keep me from you. Of course, you already know that😉
Grayson chuckles
Grayson: Yeah, I do😊
They all hug for a bit and smile at each other
Retrospecter glances ahead of them and growls
Retrospecter: Of course, this guy has to ruin the moment
Grayson and Gardevoir turn around and scowl at Corrupted Monty and see that's he's off the ground now
Corrupted Monty: Sorry about that, kids, but I'm not one for get-togethers
Corrupted Monty roars and a wave of Corrupted energy knocks the three back
Corrupted Montys shield reappears
The three get up
Grayson: We can't hurt him when he's got his shield up, and that probably goes for the other monsters too. We have to locate their boss rooms and in there, they have weapons and items that can destroy their shield. Like this one
Grayson pulls out one of the bombs he collected
Gardevoir: Ah, I see
Retrospecter: Good to know. Hopefully the others find that out without too much trouble
Grayson worries for a moment
Grayson: Yeah...
Corrupted Monty roars and leaps toward the three
The three bolt out of the way as Grayson lobs the bomb at Corrupted Montys back
Corrupted Monty's shield shatters
Corrupted Monty: You pest!!
Gardevoir uses Moon Blast on Corrupted Monty

Corrupted Monty glares at Gardevoir and smiles

Gardevoir gets in a battle stance

Corrupted Monty gets ready to pounce

The two stare at each other with determined eyes
Corrupted Monty pounds his chest and lunges toward Gardevoir
Gardervoir dashed into Corrupted Monty

While hovering in the air, Gardevoir used Psycic to pick up Corrupted Monty and bash him into the ground multiple times

Gardevoir lands in between Grayson and Retrospecter, high-fiving them
Gardevoir puts her hand to her mouth cutely
Gardevoir: *giggles* How's that for a little lady?😉
Corrupted Monty roars loudly
Corrupted Monty: ENOUGH!!!
Corrupted Monty strongly smashes the ground, making the three fly upwards onto the catwalks over the course
Corrupted Monty leaps up onto the catwalks with them on the opposite side
Corrupted Monty: THIS. ENDS. NOW!!!!
Corrupted Monty roars and a burst of Corrupted energy comes out of him as his shield is replenished
Retrospecter: Got anymore bombs, little man??
Grayson pulls one out
Grayson: This is all I have left
Retrospecter looks around
Retrospecter: Wait, look! There's cannons up here!
Grayson: Thats where I got these bombs!
Gardevoir: Let's finish this guy!
The other two nod
The three stand together
Corrupted Monty jumps up
Before he hits the ground, Grayson nails Corrupted Monty with the bomb mid-air, causing him to be knocked back onto the catwalks, almost knocking him off them
Gardevoir: Woo! Nice one, G!
Grayson smiles
Grayson: Thanks, Gar. Now, let's finish this
The other two nod and they all charge for Corrupted Monty
Corrupted Monty groans in pain before slowly getting to his feet
Corrupted Monty: You guys are the w-
Grayson runs up to Corrupted Monty and jumps and spins in the air to deliver a powerful kick to his face that also almost knocks him off

Gardevoir uses Psycic to Smash Corrupted Monty against the catwalks before throwing him into the air and blasting him with Psybeam

Corrupted Monty lands on the catwalks
Shortly after, the tile that Corrupted Monty is on breaks and he falls to the ground while different parts of him fly off
The catwalks begin to descend to the ground
They reach the ground and the three jump down as they catwalks were lifted back where they were
The group walks to Corrupted Monty
He is totally mangled
His body begins sparking
It looked like he wanted to say something, but was too broke to spit it out
And with that, Corrupted Monty died, laying limply on the ground in front of them as he gets dissolved into the ground by a Corrosive, bubbling liquid as he reveals a glowing, green gem
Grayson picks it up
Grayson: Nice work, you two😊
Gardevoir: Same to you, Master😊
Gardevoir squeezes Grayson and giggles
Grayson blushes
Retrospecter: Yeah, we owned that guy😎 Let's continue collecting these gems👍
The other nod and gives their thumbs up as they head to the door
Grayson inserts the gem into the socket
The gem glows bright
The door fades away
As the three exit the room, they room also fades away as a wall covers up the doorway
Grayson: Huh.
Gardevoir: I guess this is the kinda place where literally anything could happen whenever
Retrospecter: Got that right
Grayson: Alright, team. Let's gets those gems and find our friends!
The two nod as they wall down the path in front of them, beaming with confidence
