I WALKED through the hallways with my luggage dragged by my hands, my footsteps clicking softly against the polished marble floor.
the silence was almost oppressive, and i couldn't help but feel a bit of nostalgia as i passed by the familiar doors and walls.
as i turned a corner, i heard a familiar voice behind─calling out to me.
"shinomiya-san. there you are." i turn on my heel and turn around to see a black haired woman with clips attached on her hair - dressed in the defense form's formal attire.

her eyes met mine, and she smiled faintly.
"thank you for welcoming me on such short notice, captain ashiro. it must've been a bit of a problem, no?" i said as i stay rooted in my spot as she approached me.
"nonsense. why wouldn't i welcome a friend to the base? tachikawa base will always welcome you, you know, shinomiya-san." ashiro said as she emphasized my last name - a tease, hinting to director shinomiya, who was my father.
a short laugh escaped my lips. "oh well how lucky am i then to be considered a friend to the great captain ashiro.." i responded, emphasizing her position.
really, this woman brought me such hope and love to the defense force. not only was she a very active and lovable captain, a caring friend and senior ((senior by age only of course, i've been in the defense force longer than she has.)), but truly a good and warm person at heart.
she seems cold, and perhaps even uncaring - but everyone that knew her knows ashiro mina was a nice person and cared deeply about people.
ashiro has come so far with her hard work, starting from the bottom to the top - i've watched the woman rise with power in her reach. her appearance in the ranks increased the female applicants to be a part of the defense force - inspiring people with her charm.
almost a bit like.. hikaru shinomiya, the previous vice captain of the first division and second division, the wife of the director of the defense force, kikoru's and my dear mother.
