I woke up groggy, the early morning light peeking through the curtains. The first thought that crossed my mind was my mother. After a quick shower and a change of clothes, I hurried to the hospital. The worry that had been gnawing at me was replaced by irritation the moment I saw him.

Taehyung was in my mother's hospital room, sitting comfortably in a chair by her bed, chatting with her as if he belonged there. His presence was like a thorn in my side.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, forcing a smile as I entered the room.

Taehyung looked up, a smirk playing on his lips. "Good morning to you too, Jin Ah."

"Good morning," I replied, keeping my voice sweet for my mother's sake. "I didn't expect to see you here so early."

My mother, always the peacemaker, smiled warmly. "Taehyung has been keeping me company. He's been very kind."

"Kind, indeed," I said, giving him a look that could kill. "Thank you for that, Taehyung."

Taehyung chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "Anything for my future mother-in-law."

I forced another smile. "Yes, we're all very lucky to have you."

My mother's eyes twinkled with happiness. "It's so wonderful to see you two getting along. I always knew you were a perfect match."

I felt my jaw tighten but managed to keep my composure. "Of course, Mom. We're doing our best."

Taehyung leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand as he looked at me. "You know, Jin Ah, it wouldn't hurt to be nice to your future husband."

I forced a laugh. "Yes, Taehyung, I'll try to be nicer."

My mother sighed contentedly. "You two remind me of how your father and I used to be. Bickering all the time but deeply in love."

I softened at her words, feeling a pang of guilt. "We're just trying to figure things out, Mom."

Taehyung's eyes sparkled with amusement. "That's right. And we'll make it work, no matter what."

I shot him a quick glare, then smiled back at my mother. "Yes, we'll make it work."

"Why don't you tell me how you two met?" my mother asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.

Taehyung jumped in eagerly. "Well, it was quite the story, Mrs. Kim. We met at a charity event."

I nodded, trying to keep up the charade. "Yes, that's right. It was...unexpected."

My mother beamed. "Unexpected? That sounds interesting. Tell me more!"

Taehyung glanced at me, his smirk widening. "Jin Ah was actually the first to approach me."

I nearly choked on my own breath. "I did not! You were the one who wouldn't leave me alone."

He laughed. "Details, details. The point is, we clicked right away."
