Author pov:

The words hung in the air, heavy with implications. My hands clenched into fists, a mix of helplessness and fury surging through me.

"Why?" I demanded, my voice low but edged with steel. "Why would you do this?"Taehyung's smirk faded, replaced by a cold, calculated look.

"Because I can, My love. And because I want you to remember who holds the power."I stood up abruptly, the chair scraping against the floor.

"You think this will make me respect you? Or fear you? All it does is make me hate you more," I spat. His eyes darkened, but he maintained his composure.

"You can hate me all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that you work for me now. So, you better get used to it."Without another word, I turned and walked out of the café, my mind racing.

This power play of his was just another way to exert control over me, to keep me tethered to him. But I wouldn't let him win. I couldn't.

I walked back into Park Corporation, my mind still reeling from Taehyung's revelation. As soon as I stepped through the doors, I was met with a flurry of activity. The usual hum of office life had escalated into a chaotic buzz, everyone talking in hushed tones about the sudden change in leadership.

People glanced my way, their eyes filled with questions and curiosity. I pushed through the crowd, trying to make sense of the fragmented conversations I overheard.

"Did you hear? Taehyung Kim is the new head..."

"I can't believe it. What does this mean for us?"

"Why would Park Corporation sell out like this?"

I felt a wave of nausea wash over me. This wasn't just a personal attack; it was a calculated move that disrupted the entire company. I needed to speak with Mr. Park, my boss, and get some clarity on the situation.

I made my way to Mr. Park's office, knocking on the door before entering. He looked up from his desk, his expression one of frustration and exhaustion. Papers were strewn about, and he looked like he hadn't slept in days.

"Jin-ah," he said, his voice tinged with annoyance. "I assume you've heard the news."

I nodded, closing the door behind me. "Yes, I have. What's going on? How did this happen?"

Mr. Park sighed, rubbing his temples. "It happened fast. Taehyung Kim made an offer we couldn't refuse. The board approved it, and now here we are."

I felt a surge of anger. "But why? Why would you agree to this?"

"Money, Jin-ah," he said bluntly. "Park Corporation has been struggling, and Taehyung's offer was a lifeline. But I didn't realize it would come at such a high cost."

I clenched my fists, trying to keep my composure. "So, what now?"

Mr. Park leaned back in his chair, looking defeated. "We adapt. We try to find a way to work under his leadership. It's not going to be easy, but we don't have a choice."

I nodded slowly, my mind racing. Taehyung's power play had thrown everything into chaos, and now it was up to us to pick up the pieces. But I couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning of his manipulative schemes.
