"When you call me at night while you're out

Getting high with your friends (high with your friends)

Every 'hi,' every 'bye,' every 'I love you' you've ever said"

Those Eyes - New West

Mr. Keating had been an inspiration for the Dead Poets Society, and he was back in the United States. Today, he was coming to visit his former students, and seeing the state of the house, Knox panicked. Meeks wasn't there; he was on his honeymoon, so that was one less person to help clean up.

They spent the whole afternoon cleaning the house, throwing out all the beers, tidying up the bedrooms, cleaning the kitchen—doing everything a responsible adult would do, but they were not responsible adults.

Mr. Keating arrived in the early evening, accompanied by his wife and three children aged 6, 8, and 3 months. John hugged them all; they were so happy to see him that he shed a few tears. They were all going to eat on the beach while discussing the past five years.

Charlie had Margaret lying on his lap, and he was playing with her hair. Mr. Keating commented:

"I see some things haven't changed."

"For the better," said Knox.

"Or for the worse," Charlie joked.

And he kissed Margaret. Then, Mrs. Keating told her husband that she needed to go get some things and handed her 3-month-old to Charlie, who was quite surprised and didn't know how to react. Margaret watched him care for the little baby, imagining for a fraction of a second that it was their child, and she realized that maybe this was the life she wanted.

After a while, Charlie found himself alone with Mr. Keating. They watched Margaret and Todd playing with the waves in the distance.

"So, Dalton, kids soon?"

"What? Oh! No! We've only been together for a short time."

"Five years is a long time."

"Yes, but with an involuntary break of 4 years and a few months."

Keating frowned and understood; he was saddened by this news.

"But...you love her, don't you?"

Charlie looked at Margaret in the distance and confirmed. He loved her madly, he had never stopped, he had lived his entire life, a life dedicated to loving her.

"You could write beautiful poetry about your relationship."

Charlie laughed and admitted that it was true. The sun began to set, and everyone started heading inside. Knox and Pitt began preparing dinner and told Mr. Keating to set up his things upstairs.

Mr. Keating went upstairs and put down his belongings. He wanted to come back down but heard someone vomiting. He realized it was coming from Margaret's room. He knocked on the door and asked if she was okay. She came out and promised she was fine, explaining that it was just a passing nausea.

Keating exchanged a worried look with her and asked if she was late on her cycle. She admitted that she was. He asked her to call someone she trusted completely, and she called Todd because she obviously couldn't talk about this with Charlie. Todd joined them quickly, sensing the urgency in their voices.

"What's going on?"

"Miss Perry is in a rather worrying position."

"She's standing," Todd noted.

"I think I'm pregnant," Margaret interrupted.

"Anderson, you need to go get a test."

Todd didn't need to be told twice and ran to his car. Keating made up an excuse, saying Margaret was sick and he needed to take care of her. They waited a long time in the room, Margaret on the verge of fainting, and John trying his best to calm her. Todd returned, and Margaret took the test from his hands and rushed to the bathroom.

After some time, she came out of the bathroom. Todd and Keating stood up, waiting anxiously for the test result.

"It's positive."

A single tear fell from Margaret's eyes. Todd took her in his arms, but no one dared to say a word. Margaret said she needed to sit down and nearly collapsed. She clung to Todd and sat on her bed.

"Everything will be okay. Charlie will..." Todd began.

"Panic?" Margaret suggested.

"Maybe a little at first, but he loves you and..." Keating continued.

"He loves me?!" Margaret exclaimed.

Keating was surprised by her reaction, but he didn't change his stance, and Todd confirmed that it was clear as day that Charlie loved her.

"Do you love him too?" Keating asked.

"I...yes, I guess I do, but I haven't told him..."

She burst into tears, crying in Todd's arms. Todd looked at Mr. Keating, sharing his concern and affection for Margaret.

That evening, Charlie and Margaret slept together, and she still didn't find the courage to tell him. He looked at her with love, not seeming to want to sleep. And then he said the fateful phrase that sealed their fate forever:

"I love you, Margaret."

She looked at him, holding back the tears welling up in her eyes.

"Why?" she asked.

"It's like breathing. I don't really have a choice; if I stop, I die."

It was the most beautiful thing he had ever said to her. She watched him closely; he was sincere. This man was going to be the father of her child, and she loved him.

"I love you too," she concluded.

He took her in his arms, and she cried. He didn't understand why but comforted her. He didn't say anything, just enveloped her in his arms, planting gentle kisses on her forehead. They loved each other, and for now, Charlie sincerely believed their story was destined to be calm and peaceful without any major events or complications.

After the emotional confession, the night progressed quietly. Margaret eventually fell asleep in Charlie's arms, feeling a mix of anxiety and comfort. Charlie stayed awake a little longer, his mind racing with the possibilities of their future. He knew that life was about to change in unexpected ways, but he was determined to face it with Margaret by his side.

The next morning, Margaret woke up early. She watched Charlie sleep for a moment, feeling a profound sense of love and connection. She knew she had to tell him about the pregnancy, but she needed a little more time to gather her courage. Slipping out of bed quietly, she decided to take a walk on the beach to clear her mind.

As the sun rose, casting a warm glow over the water, Margaret felt a sense of calm wash over her. She knew that no matter what happened, she had the support of her friends and Mr. Keating. And most importantly, she had Charlie's love.

When she returned to the house, the others were starting to wake up. Mr. Keating was making coffee in the kitchen, and Todd was already up, looking concerned. He gave her a questioning look, and she nodded, indicating that she was ready to talk to Charlie. Todd squeezed her hand in support.
