"But touch my tears with your lips

Touch my world with your fingertips

And we can have forever

And we can love forever"

Who Wants to Live Forever- Queen

Margaret had spent her day thinking; she needed to tell Charlie everything she felt; he needed to know about the baby.

She had asked him to come for a walk on the beach; Todd and Keating had watched them with hope mixed with a certain worry. They had walked for a long time holding hands; Charlie kept repeating that he loved her, and it reassured Margaret, but they were just words; there were also actions, and they had consequences.

"Charlie, you'll love me no matter what happens, right?" Margaret asked.

"Yes, why?" he replied.

"Look at me."

He stood in front of her wondering what she was going to tell him; she was horribly afraid to tell him, but it had to come out.

"I'm pregnant."

Charlie wondered if it was a joke, but he saw that she was on the verge of tears; it wasn't a joke. She was pregnant with his child; he was going to be a father... he was going to have a child. His heart raced, and his breath caught; he needed to sit down. He held his head in his hands and began to pace around Margaret; he was thinking a mile a minute; they weren't married yet; he loved her, but it was all happening way too fast for him.

"I need to think," he said.

And he ran off to clear his mind. Margaret watched him go, sighed, and cursed at him, but without anger; she understood him perfectly. Now she had to tell her friends.

Knox had an obviously exaggerated but very affectionate reaction; he shouted his joy for 5 long minutes then hugged Margaret with all his might before stepping back, fearing he might have hurt the baby. Pitt, on the other hand, cried in Margaret's arms; he was very happy for her.

"I want to be the godfather!" Todd declared.

"It's dead; I'm the godfather!" contested Knox.

"I said it long before you!"

"Hey! I was Charlie's therapist all summer!"

"I bought the pregnancy test!"

"That's lame."

Margaret calmed them down and promised to think about it later.

They all wanted to know Charlie's reaction. Knox was convinced he would make the right choice, but Margaret, although convinced by this assertion, couldn't help but stress. He had gone running along the beach; it had been a while since he had returned, so Knox had suggested going to look for him.

Knox quickly found Charlie; he was staring at the waves with consternation, looking anxiously for his best friend. Knox stood next to him and sighed.

"Everyone knows, right?" Charlie asked.

"Yes, and everyone will support you..."

"Support Margaret, she needs it."

"And what about you?"

"I can..."

"No, you can't."

Knox didn't even want to hear what Charlie was going to say; he knew he needed him; he had helped him since he returned, and he knew it was worth it.

"Charlie, if you have doubts or fears, you can talk to me," Knox said.

"I know what I have to do, Overstreet; I don't have any doubts; I just need to find the courage to move forward," Charlie replied.

"You're going to be a dad, man..."

Charlie looked at Knox with concern; they both smiled and chuckled softly, then they hugged warmly. Charlie thanked Knox for being there for him, and Knox said it was his pleasure. They went back home quietly. Charlie asked where Margaret was; he was told she was on the balcony. He took a deep breath and climbed the stairs before joining her.

He stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, turned her around, and buried his head in her chest; he laughed and gently caressed her hair, illuminated by the sun. Charlie loved her; he loved her so much that he could sacrifice everything for her.

He pressed his lips against Margaret's and looked at her with love.

"I love you so much..."

"I know," she replied.

"No, you don't know."

He got down on one knee in front of her and took a small box out of his pocket; they both started to hold back laughter; this situation made them uncomfortable but made them so happy; they both knew the question and the answer.

"Margaret Perry, will you marry me?" Charlie asked.

"Charlie Dalton, I accept with the greatest happiness to marry you," Margaret replied.

"Are you sure?"

"Hmm... let me think..."

"Too late."

He slipped the ring onto her finger and kissed her tenderly.

"Are we really going to get married?" Margaret wondered.

"Apparently."

"We don't need a big wedding; a small one with just our friends will do."

"I agree; it also needs to happen fairly quickly."

As he said that, he placed a hand on Margaret's belly and smiled.

"I'm sure it's going to be a boy," Charlie said.

"No, a little girl that you'll spoil way too much," Margaret replied.

She kissed him, and he carried her to bed.

After making love, they couldn't help but think about everything they had been through; they had loved each other for far too long without admitting it; they had suffered from this love, and now they could fully enjoy it.

Margaret's presence was like a drug for Charlie; he couldn't be separated from her for too long; he needed her to lie next to him when he slept, to see her smile when he woke up in the morning, and now he needed to marry her and start a family with her.

It felt like a fairy tale, a beautiful story told to children to put them to sleep; some preferred a sadder story, with a tragic ending, but sometimes we need a "happy end," a light, hope in life.

They were going to get married, but it was just the beginning of a very long adventure.
