AUTHOR POV

"Adhira, bring Saaira along. Guests will be arriving soon for 'muh-dikhaai'," Padmini said calmly.

Adhira nodded and made her way to Saaira's room, where Tara was helping her prepare.

She knocked gently on the door. When Tara opened it, Adhira stepped inside and was instantly struck by Saaira's stunning appearance.

Saaira, already nervous and standing ready, became more anxious seeing Adhira's surprised reaction.

She quickly glanced at herself in the mirror and asked nervously, "What's wrong? Do I not look good?"

Adhira stood beside Saaira and looked at her reflection in the mirror. "You look absolutely stunning!" she exclaimed with genuine admiration. "So breathtakingly beautiful that words fail to capture your radiance."

Saaira blushed upon hearing Adhira's compliment and shyly adjusted her Nath.

"Haaye! Aaj Advik Jiju ko toh Rab hi bachaye tumhari khoobsurati se," Adhira exclaimed dramatically, placing a hand over her heart.

Saaira playfully swatted her arm, teasingly saying, "Oh, stop it, Adhira!"

Adhira and Tara chuckled at Saaira's blushing cheeks in response to Advik's name.

"Let's go, Auntie has called you. The guests have started arriving," Adhira said, taking Saaira's hand and leading her towards the door, gently covering Saaira's face with the veil.

Adhira led Saaira into the living room and carefully seated her on the sofa, capturing everyone's immediate attention.

The guests, previously engaged in conversations, turned towards Saaira with curiosity.

One by one, they approached her, lifting her veil respectfully to catch a glimpse of her face and began praising her beauty while presenting their gifts.

SAAIRA

As the guests graciously complimented me while presenting their gifts, my smile radiated with increasing warmth.

Each gift was handed over to Adhira, and I instinctively pulled my veil back over my face.

With the guests now immersed in their conversations once more, I found myself nervously twiddling my fingers.

An uneasy feeling settled in as I wondered about Advik's impending reaction.

Would he appreciate my Maharashtrian-style attire today? I had meticulously dressed to embody the essence of a traditional Marathi Girl, hoping to make a lasting impression.

"Advik jiju has arrived," Adhira's voice reverberated in my ears, instantly stealing my breath.

Footsteps, unmistakably Advik's, drew nearer, closing the distance between us.

Adhira was poised to rise from the sofa when my grip tightened on her hand, a silent plea etched in my eyes. "What's wrong?" Adhira queried, taken aback by my urgency.

I managed a faint shake of my head, grappling with nerves that rendered Adhira's words a distant murmur against the thundering of my own heartbeat.

Surrendering her hand from my grasp, Adhira whispered urgently, "Let go of my hand. This space is for jiju."

My heart raced, anticipation and anxiety colliding as I struggled to comprehend her words amidst the rush of adrenaline.

With Adhira now on her feet, I unconsciously fidgeted with my fingers in my lap, a nervous gesture betraying my inner turmoil.
