SAAIRA

We stood outside the mansion in the chilly pre-dawn air, waiting for Shaan Bhai and Tara.

It was a little past 5 in the morning, and despite the early hour, there was a buzz of excitement among us.

Yesterday, Adhira had received permission from her father to join our trip.

She quickly packed her bags and returned to the mansion with us. We had stayed up late talking, and eventually, I had fallen asleep in the guestroom with her.

When I woke up, I learned that Advik had come to call me, but seeing that I was asleep, he chose not to wake me.

"Saaira, where are you lost? Shaan and Tara are here," Advik's voice snapped me back to reality.

I looked up and saw everyone loading their bags into the car's trunk.

I quickly made my way to Vihaan's car and settled into the back seat. Adhira promptly joined me from the other side.

I had expected Advik to sit next to me, but instead, Tara slipped into the seat with a burst of excitement. "Oh, I am so excited for this trip that I couldn't sleep all night," she exclaimed.

Her enthusiasm made us all giggle, but our laughter was interrupted by Shaan Bhai's slightly irritated voice, "Am I supposed to sit alone in this car?"

Through the open car door, I saw Advik standing there. He looked at me with a neutral expression before heading towards Shaan Bhai.

"What happened to him?" I muttered under my breath.

"Did you say something, Bhabhi?" Vihaan asked, adjusting the rearview mirror.

I immediately shook my head, trying to dispel the unease. Vihaan, bursting with excitement, said, "All set!"

Tara and Adhira instantly exclaimed, "Yes!" Their voices were so loud that I had to cover my ears.

Vihaan chuckled as he started the car, and we began our journey to Pune. Shaan Bhai and Advik followed in the car behind us.

Advik's neutral expression flashed in my mind, making me feel uneasy. I instinctively reached for my phone, thinking of messaging him to ask if everything was alright.

But before I could, Tara snatched the phone from my hand and said, "No phones on the trip!"

"How will we take pictures without our phones?" Adhira asked, as if it was the most crucial concern.

Tara quickly pulled out a camera from her bag, her excitement palpable. "That's what this is for!"

"Please, Tara, give me the phone. I need to send one message," I pleaded.

"Oh, can't wait, huh?" Tara teased, nudging my shoulder playfully.

I just shook my head at the level of their teasing, trying to suppress a smile.

It was impossible to stay serious around these two. Their infectious energy filled the car, making it hard not to get caught up in their excitement.

Vihaan started the music in the car, and Tara and Adhira immediately began grooving to the upbeat tune, their infectious energy filling the vehicle.

I turned around and looked behind us. Shaan Bhai's car was just a short distance away, and I could clearly see Advik sitting in the passenger seat.

I gave him a small smile, hoping to lighten his mood, but instead of smiling back, he just kept looking at me with an unreadable expression.
