Confessions in the Morning Light
The first light of dawn streamed through the bedroom window, casting a soft glow over Y/N and Aventurine. Y/N stirred, blinking against the morning light as the events of the previous night slowly came back to her. She felt the warmth of Aventurine beside her, her head resting on his chest, and the realization hit her like a tidal wave.
"Oh no," she whispered, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she remembered her drunken confession and the kiss they had shared. Panic surged through her, and she carefully disentangled herself from Aventurine, trying not to wake him.
With her heart pounding in her chest, Y/N quietly slipped out of the bed and tiptoed out of the room. She needed to get out of there, to escape the overwhelming embarrassment that threatened to consume her. Once outside, she broke into a run, not stopping until she reached her apartment.
Slamming the door behind her, Y/N leaned against it, her breath coming in ragged gasps. The reality of what had happened washed over her, and she felt tears of mortification prick at her eyes. "What did I do?" she muttered to herself, burying her face in her hands.
Back at Robin's apartment, Aventurine awoke to find Y/N gone. The warmth where she had been lying was fading, leaving him with an emptiness he couldn't ignore. He sat up, running a hand through his hair as he replayed the events of the previous night in his mind. He remembered her words, her kiss, and the way she had clung to him.
Determined to set things right, Aventurine quickly got dressed and left Robin's apartment, his mind racing with thoughts of Y/N. He needed to see her, to tell her how he felt and to make sure she knew that her confession had meant everything to him.
An hour later, Y/N was still pacing her apartment, her mind a whirlwind of confusion and regret. The knock on her door startled her, and she hesitated for a moment before opening it to find Aventurine standing there, his expression earnest and filled with emotion.
"Aventurine," she began, her voice shaky. "I'm so sorry about last night. I was drunk and I—"Aventurine gently placed a finger on her lips, silencing her. "Y/N, it's okay. Can I come in?"
She nodded, stepping aside to let him enter. They stood in the middle of her living room, the tension between them palpable.
"I remember everything," Y/N said softly, her eyes downcast. "I can't believe I said those things. I was so embarrassed that I ran away."
Aventurine took a step closer, his eyes locked on hers. "Y/N, you have nothing to be embarrassed about. I need you to know that what you said meant a lot to me."
She looked up at him, her eyes searching his face for any sign of insincerity. "Really?"
"Really," Aventurine replied, his voice filled with sincerity. "Last night, when you told me you loved me, it made me realize that I feel the same way about you."Y/N's heart skipped a beat, hope and disbelief mingling in her chest. "You do?"
Aventurine nodded, taking her hands in his. "Y/N, I've felt this way for a while now. I just didn't know how to tell you. But hearing you say it, even if you were drunk, gave me the courage to admit it."
Tears welled up in Y/N's eyes, but this time, they were tears of joy. "Aventurine, I love you," she whispered, her voice breaking with emotion.
Aventurine pulled her into his arms, holding her close. "I love you too, Y/N. More than words can express."
They stood there, wrapped in each other's embrace, the weight of their confessions lifting from their shoulders. For a moment, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them, bound together by a love that had finally been acknowledged.
Aventurine pulled back slightly, looking into Y/N's eyes. "No more running away, okay?"Y/N smiled through her tears, nodding. "No more running away."
With that, Aventurine leaned in and kissed her, his lips gentle and reassuring. Y/N melted into the kiss, feeling the truth of their love in every touch. When they finally pulled apart, they both knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together.
The morning light continued to stream into the room, casting a warm glow over them. Y/N felt a sense of peace and happiness she hadn't known before, and she knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face them together.
Hand in hand, they walked to the window, looking out at the city that had brought them together. The future was bright, filled with endless possibilities, and as long as they had each other, Y/N knew they could overcome anything.
"I guess we should go tell the others," Y/N said with a laugh, thinking of the amused and supportive reactions their friends would have.
Aventurine grinned, squeezing her hand. "Let's go. I'm ready for whatever comes next, as long as you're by my side."
And with that, they left the apartment, ready to share their newfound love with the world and embrace the future together.
