CORUSCANT - SENATE BUILDING - DAY

Revan was coming out of the Senate Chamber after a gruelling session, his eyes bloodshot and his throat parched from hours of impassioned debate. The corridors of the building echoed with the footsteps of aides and senators alike, their voices a distant murmur in his exhausted mind. He hadn't slept much the past couple of months, it started after Khorm, but has gotten worse as of recently. As he approached the grand windows that overlooked the bustling cityscape, he is approached by Senator Bail Organa, who looked equally drained.

Bail: (sighs) Master Revan, busy day as always.

Revan: Indeed, Senator. The Republic never seems to rest.

Bail: (nods) The war... it's taking its toll on us all. Especially you, I suspect. I noticed you've been looking a bit... troubled lately. Is there something you'd like to share?

Revan: (shakes head slightly) It's nothing that can't wait, Senator, really. There's nothing you need to concern yourself with.

Bail: (smiles slightly) I apologise for prying... it's just, when I see someone struggling, I feel compelled to offer support. And uh, I have fatherly instincts, I guess.

Revan: (smiles tiredly) You have children?

Bail: (smiles sadly) No, I don't. Me and my wife... could never have any of our own.

Revan: (nods) I'm sorry, I didn't know.

Bail: (waves it off) It's alright. We've been wanting to adopt for some time now. But with the war, it seems like everything is on hold. How about you, any plans to settle down when all this is over?

Revan: (chuckles slightly) Settle down? That's a concept I haven't allowed myself to think about in a long time. (clears throat) But, the Jedi way is one of service, not personal attachments.

Bail: (eyes narrowed with a smile) Right. The Jedi way. (pauses) Hmm, well, I better head to Senator Amidala's office. I need to discuss this, enhanced privacy invasion bill. Senator Philo has called a meeting in the lobby before we vote on it.

Revan: (nods) Good luck with that, Senator.

As Bail walked away, Revan leaned heavily against the windowsill, the weight of his thoughts pressing down on him like the gravity of a collapsing star. The enhanced privacy invasion bill would allow the Supreme Chancellor the unprecedented ability and broad powers to spy on Republic citizens who were suspected as being Separatists. It was a measure that could lead to chaos and fear, especially in times of war, and Revan knew it was his duty to ensure that the Senate did not vote it into law. Just as Revan was about to turn away from the windows, Riyo approaches him.

Riyo: (calmly) If I didn't know better, I'd say you looked like a man with the weight of the galaxy on his shoulders.

Revan: (half-smiles) I think I'd rather be fighting battle droids on the front lines than navigating politics here.

Riyo: (chuckles) Politics can be a battlefield of its own. But it's where the real battles are won or lost, without ever firing a shot.

Revan: (sighs) Can't argue with that. It's just... there's something brewing beneath the surface, something that feels... off.

Riyo: (concerned) Off? Care to elaborate?

Revan: (firmly) It's just a feeling. The air in this place today... it's thick with tension. It's not just the bill, it's something else.
