Jennie's POV

"Dahyun, bring these documents to the Financial Management department, please," I commanded my secretary. She nodded and headed out, only to return a moment later.

"What is it?" I asked, raising my brows.

"Your new business partner, Mr. Kim, will arrive in the meeting room in a few minutes, Ms. Kim," she reminded me. I nodded in acknowledgment. "Another old man I have to argue with," I muttered, rising from my seat. I straightened my clothes before stepping into the elevator.

As I entered, a young, professional-looking man joined me. I reached to press the button for the third floor, but he beat me to it. Raising an eyebrow, I folded my arms and stared at him.

"What's your problem?" he asked, noticing my stare.

"Nothing. You're quite so fine, young man. Are you new here?" I asked directly.

"For your information, I am already 29 years old, and you are the one who's young here," he replied. My eyes widened as he confidently walked into the meeting room. I quickly detoured to the restroom to touch up my makeup.

A minute later, I entered the meeting room. The young man's eyes were fixed on me, as if he was about to catch his prey. I couldn't help but notice how striking his eyes were.

"Where's the boss here?" he questioned.

"Wow, you dare to ask that question? Who are you to ask that?" I shot back, raising an eyebrow and glaring at him.

My secretary suddenly barged in. "Good morning, Mr. Kim. The boss here is Ms. Kim," Dahyun said, pointing at me. Both of our eyes widened in shock and surprise. It was truly unexpected.

I jolted as he stood and bowed deeply. "I apologize for my behavior, Ms. Kim," he said.

Feeling a pang of guilt, I responded, "I apologize too, Mr. Kim." After our meeting concluded successfully, we found ourselves alone in the room. He broke the tension with a deep gaze.

"Are you single, Ms. Kim?" he asked, his tone serious.

"Why do you ask, Mr. Kim?" I inquired curiously.

"Nothing. I am just curious. You're too pretty not to have someone you love," he answered, his eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Well, in fact, I do have someone I love. I have a daughter," I said, watching as his eyebrows furrowed and his shoulders slumped slightly.

"Where does your husband work?" he questioned, a hint of confusion in his voice.

"I don't have one," I answered bluntly.

"Oh," was all he managed to say, looking a bit taken aback.

"Can we be friends and have dinner tomorrow? Bring along your daughter too; I'd love to meet her," he grinned, his boxy smile lighting up his face. I nodded, and we both left the office together.

End of POV

Unaware of the admiring and gossiping employees, Jennie and Taehyung walked together, laughing and smiling ear to ear. Some of them squealed when Mr. Kim entered their boss's office.

"So, Mr. Kim, may I ask your full name? How can we call ourselves friends if we don't know each other's names?" Jennie giggled, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

The man in front of her, tucking his hands into his office pants, chuckled too. "I am Kim Taehyung," he said, giggling before reaching out his hand.

"I am Kim Jennie. Call me Jen when it's just us," she smiled warmly.

"Likewise, Jen," he replied, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

"So, Taehyung, what do you think of our company, and why do you want to collaborate with us?" Jennie asked, folding her arms across her chest and leaning back in her chair.

"Hmm... I wasn't too keen on collaborating after hearing rumors about your company's struggles and rocky relationships with some business partners, but my older brother insisted. We're not very close, but he says he knows you," Taehyung explained, his gaze steady.

"He knows me? How? May I know his name, at least?" Jennie raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued.

"Kim Seokjin," he revealed.

"Ahh, my best friend's fiancé. I didn't know he had a younger sibling; he never mentioned it," Jennie said, sounding amazed.

"Yeah, we're not that close. I'm very dedicated to my work," Taehyung said, his eyes wandering around the well-furnished, tidy office.

"Kim Jisoo is your best friend, right?" he asked, wanting to be sure.

"Yes," she answered instantly.

"So, Jennie, I'll be going now. I really enjoyed chatting with you today and appreciate your wisdom. I had a great time, and as for the business collaboration, it's a deal." They both smiled and shrugged, then hugged, unaware they were visible from outside.

The employees watched in awe, their whispers and giggles filling the office as Jennie and Taehyung parted ways.
