After 2 days
"Good morning, Ms. Kim Jennie," the employees greeted as soon as they saw Jennie walking down the aisle of her company. Her bold, fierce, cat-like eyes glanced at them as she gave a slight bow. "Ma'am, we have a meeting today with Mr. Kim," her secretary informed her with a respectful bow.
"I know. Prepare all the documents on my desk and make sure not to leave any dust when I come back," Jennie replied sternly, walking straight into the elevator.
"Yes, ma'am," the secretary responded promptly.
Inside the Meeting Room:
"Oppa!" Jennie squealed, hugging the man she was supposed to meet with. He was Kim Namjoon, her cousin and Taehyung's senior best friend from college.
"Jennie," Namjoon breathed out, returning her embrace.
"How have you been, Jennie?" he asked, his voice warm with genuine concern.
"I've been good, Oppa. A lot has changed since we last met," Jennie replied, pulling back to look at him. "I'm in a new relationship now."
"Really? Who's the lucky guy?" Namjoon asked with a curious smile.
"It's Taehyung," Jennie revealed, her eyes lighting up at the mention of her new boyfriend.
Namjoon's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Taehyung? You mean Kim Taehyung? He's my junior best friend from college."
"Really?," Jennie questioned shockingly. "We've been dating for a few months now. He's been amazing with Ari, too."
"How's Ari doing?" Namjoon asked, his expression softening at the mention of Jennie's daughter.
"She's doing well, growing up so fast. She's really fond to Taehyung and Jungkook. It's been nice having them around," Jennie said, a hint of warmth in her voice as she spoke about her daughter and Taehyung.
"And how's Jungkook?" Namjoon inquired cautiously, knowing the sensitive history between Jennie and her ex-boyfriend.
Jennie's expression stiffened slightly. "We're managing. It's complicated, as you can imagine. But for Ari's sake, we're trying to make it work."
Namjoon nodded, understanding the delicate situation. "I'm glad to hear that. If you need anything, just let me know. I'm always here for you, Jennie."
"Thank you, Oppa," Jennie said, her eyes reflecting gratitude. "It means a lot to have you by my side."
"Of course, Jennie. Family always comes first," Namjoon replied, giving her a reassuring smile.
"Let's grab lunch together? It's been a year since we last caught up. You've been busy with your business, and mine's been keeping me occupied," Jennie chuckled warmly, suggesting they take a break.
"Sure, Jennie. It'll be great to catch up," Namjoon replied with a smile. "Let's start in a few minutes. We'll wait for the board of directors to arrive as soon as possible."
After 15 minutes
As they settled around the polished conference table, the board members greeted Jennie and Namjoon with respectful nods and brief exchanges of pleasantries. Soon, the meeting began with Jennie taking the lead.
"Thank you all for gathering here today. As you know, we're here to discuss the upcoming merger with KimNam Corp.," Jennie began, projecting confidence and authority. "Namjoon and I have thoroughly reviewed their financials and strategic alignment with our goals."
Namjoon chimed in, "Their market presence is strong, but we've identified areas where our synergies can enhance both companies' positions. Specifically, integrating their technological innovations with our operational framework could yield substantial benefits."
