"You can dance, you can jive, Having the time of your life, Ooh, see that girl, watch that scene, Digging the dancing queen"
Liv and CeeCee are standing on top of the sticky white table top in the underground club. The sparkly silver table cover was removed and wrapped around Charlotte's shoulders, trying to hide the way her dress had split down her back when she jumped up out of her seat to Waterloo.
She had asked Liv if she'd brought with her the little travel sewing kit that she used to always take on uni nights out when it was common practice for one out of the five girls to split something but she had completely forgotten to, she never really took it out with her anymore.
Besides, the outfits that both her and CeeCee had on had been sewn by Liv within an inch of their lives when they brought the matching 'Abba' themed jumpsuits for Holly's hen party but of course they needed adjustments.
With the length fitting CeeCee perfectly with her heels on it meant that Liv needed to turn hers up ever so slightly to avoid it dragging around in the muddy January puddles. Plus the wrap design around the bust, crisscrossing in the middle of the chest was perfect for Liv, allowing her to have her ample chest framed and in full focus, as per usual, for CeeCee it was a bit too loose and didn't leave anything to the imagination which wasn't like the demure look she was known for so Liv made sure she fixed this too.
However now as the girls sing out even louder, pointing towards the table that Jessica and Holly were stood on, surrounded by some of Holly's other friends and family they cannot help but feel like the same carefree girls that they were back at University, especially as Charlotte finally climbs up, slinging an arm around Liv as the five sing out Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! to one another.
Memories of the five of them in their halls, then their shared apartment in Wandsworth are flooding back. Late nights singing and dancing around the small three bedroom flat in their pyjamas, early hour of the morning pizza dates when they would stumble in from the club, sometimes with a lad or two which would always make for interesting sleeping arrangements, mainly for CeeCee and Olivia, and lazy Sundays laying on the sofa watching Mamma Mia and whatever other musical took their fancy at the time.
So when Holly chose this for her Hen Party, her overly organised nature wanted to make sure she had a hand in it all rather than the surprise of it, the girls couldn't be more excited. An Abba Bottomless Afternoon Brunch into the night was just what they all needed, it had been a while since they had all been together.
Granted, Liv and CeeCee had seen Jessica and her fiancé Jordan at the New Year's Eve party but Liv was trying to block that night just over a week ago completely out of her mind. And that would be easier said than done if Dec had actually left her alone.
It wasn't that Liv didn't usually hear from Declan because she did. He would text in their group chat, the one that they had seemingly had for years, adding people in (and removing them) as time went on that one of them would be dating someone or a new member of staff at the pub Declan worked at that Mason run that had become a friend of the group, as well as any new roommates that they might have. It was a literal mess of a chat, one that CeeCee had muted almost all year until a big event or holiday came out and she would dip in, check what was happening and then zip back out, oh and also when there was drama or gossip, because who can avoid the tea?
