I did not want to wake up. The body warmth wrapping me was too generous. I inched closer until I felt it move. My eyes flew open, I was alert. I looked down to see my leg entangled with another person's leg, and I was lying on his chest. I crossed my fingers, 'not Sean please not Sean' I told myself before I lifted my eyes to meet brown hazel eyes staring at me. I scampered away from him screaming, I just did not realize how close to the edge I was and before I knew it, my face hit the floor.
'Oh shit!' I cursed. I was sure that fall was not the one that made my head ache so bad. I rolled over and faced up my palm on my forehead, it was so painful. Sean seemed to be extremely happy since I could hear him chuckle. He sat up on bed at the edge looking at me amused, holding back a laugh. His chest was bare. Hallelujah! A cheetah covered his upper chest and part of his packs. He was just perfectly built and my eyes refused to move from that spot. I just realized that I had been sleeping on that chest, I almost melted. He chuckled again, exposing his smile. His perfect smile that was bright and his eyes were gorgeous against the sun rays. His black hair was messed up which made him even hotter than he had been before. I wished I could hold on to that moment forever, the most amazing sight I had ever seen. A sharp pang of pain struck my head bringing me back to painful reality, I sat up on the floor.
'You seem to be having too much fun Marteaz ' I said rolling my eyes.
'Just shocked at your reaction after what happened last night' his smile was still there.
'Last night, what happened last night?' I asked confused. I sincerely remembered nothing. His eyes moved down to my body and I followed his gaze to realize that I was wearing his t-shirt. Could this morning get any worse!'No it can't be!' I said shaking my head in disbelief. His smile widened, the guy was genuinely pleased by the fact that I could not remember anything.
'You were wild last night Vee, yeah Ramirez started calling you that' he clarified after seeing my shock when he called me Vee.
'When, how, I mean we ?' I asked wagging a finger from him to me.
'Yeah, we fucked' he said emphasizing each word as if he wanted me to take it in one syllable at a time. How could I not remember that? I wished I remembered. I am sure it had been amazing, right?'Then why does my head ache so bad?' I asked him seriously, ignoring his previous statement.
'You drank two bottles of whiskey darling, dry' he really stressed on the word dry, 'it is called a hangover'
I narrowed my eyes at his explanation. I stood up and picked my phone on the bed stand and looked at the time.
'It is fucking midday!' I screamed, he was not surprised.
'And so,' he asked so chilled out as if it meant nothing. I walked to the shower ignoring his gaze on me, I had to get to Papi's ranch.***
'At least you have interesting mornings' Melisa said hitting the bullseye. We were in my father's largest ranch in America, in which I was the director. It was his biggest business apart from weapon dealing since it was extremely profitable. More illegal than legal things happened in his ranches though. Papi owned almost half of the ranches in the states. He used to be business partners with Brad, Melisa's father before he died. Melisa then grew up under my father's care, more like a sister, but she preferred living in my shadow and let me take the lead.'Interesting?' I asked her as I set up my gun so that I could also shoot.
'Oh sorry, last night was even more interesting' she shot me a glance and a naughty smile. I simply rolled my eyes.
'I still can't believe that you two ,' Melisa said holding back a laugh.
'That is what he says' I interrupted.
'What do you mean he says? Things like that don't just happen, you participated, remember?' she said confused.
I let out an agitated sigh,' I don't remember shit I do when I am drunk, and apparently, I drank two whole bottles of whiskey '
'No way!' she was laughing.
'No, don't do that, don't laugh at my misery' I said, pretending to be angry.
'Iam laughing because you seriously don't remember getting fucked by your husband, you should definitely do a rematch' she said, gazing at me curiously.
'Of course, can't wait for tonight' I said sarcastically and aimed at my target. I pulled the trigger and missed the bullseye by a whisker.'You know I actually thought you would end up with Ramirez last night, not Sean' Melisa said after a long silence.
'Yeah, as if that could happen, he is too loyal to lie with his best friend's wife' I said. Earlier on, I had a huge crush on Ramirez. He was a hell lot better than Sean, I just would never have admitted it to him, or anyone else for that matter. If it were back then, I would have regretted sleeping with Sean. But now, it actually felt kind of nice. I wish I remembered, but that did not stop me from thinking about his strong hands touching every part of me, me on top of him,,,'Violet!' the harsh tone pulled me out of my fantasies. I recognized that voice immediately.
'Yes father' I politely responded, afraid to face him.
'I have called you five times, what is bugging you darling?' he asked.
'Nothing, just thinking of an incoming delivery tonight' I lied swiftly. He looked around before his eyes paused at the targets a few meters away.
'Did you shoot that target?' he asked pointing at the one I recently shot.
'Yes,,why?' I asked.
'You missed. You never miss, I hope that delivery is worth it' If only he knew. I simply smiled. Lying to Papi was the hardest thing to do,his eyes pierced even the darkest souls. He did not push, he just went ahead to talk to Melisa. I was relieved, though shocked on how short he kept the conversation. Though, I was not the only one acting strange, so was he. He never let things slide, something was also disturbing his peace, and I had to find out what.
