'Get ready tonight, we are having one of our biggest clients from DC ' I said to Ramirez.
'Of course, I will make sure everything is ready, the exchange will happen at the port' he assured.
'Have the weapons ready as always, also, reserve one sniper rifle with a silencer, Violet will need it' I said to Luca, one of my most trusted men. He dealt with the dirty work of killing and taking care of it afterwards. He nodded and walked out, he was a man of few words.
'What do you mean Violet will need it, she is not coming to the exchange is she?' Ramirez asked after the door shut.
'She is, embrace it, she will be attending every exchange, we are business partners now' I said confidently.
'I though she dealt weapons not drugs, and weren't you the same person who was complaining about how she sabotaged your last negotiation?' he asked his voice dangerous.
'Yes, I know all that,' I said and directly faced him,' but Violet is one of the best snipers, she held her first riffle when she was seven, she could be of big help if the exchange becomes ugly. Still, I need to show her that I trust her to indulge in my business so that I can also get into hers'
Ramirez nodded, still not convinced. It was too late anyway, nothing he would have said would have changed my mind. He opened his laptop and started typing furiously on the keyboard.
'Aren't you worried?' he asked after cooling off.
'About what?'
'About Violet taking over the drug dealership. Don't take me wrong, but you involve her in it so much, yet she has not told you anything about hers' he reasoned. He made sense.
'I know, and I cannot push Violet to do so, otherwise she will shut us out completely, give it time, I am sure she will open up' I said, trying to convince him.
'Well, are you doing this for you or your father?' he asked. My muscles tensed. Ramirez might as well have been more loyal to Marteaz than me. To him, it was just business.
'For the family, but you know I would rather stick to my profession' I answered trying to sound as casual as possible. My ringtone made me sigh in relief. Any more questions and he would find out that I had zero interest in claiming that business.
'Violet, I was just about to call you'
'Oh really, what would you like to have for dinner hubby?' she sounded so sarcastic, but the information was even more shocking. It had been a week since we moved in to our house. She had avoided speaking to me about anything except her whereabouts. Now she was calling to ask about dinner?
'Some shrimp would be nice, and I wanted to call and tell you that Ramirez will be joining us'
'Sure' she answered casually.
'Okay, bye and be sa,,,' she cut off the line. That was cold, where did that girl who was having fun in the club go?
Ramirez arched an eyebrow 'you know that I have a life outside of yours?'
'As if' he was hard as a rock, I doubted he had any social life whatsoever.
