The speed boat was my cue. I only had one shot at this, I couldn't blow it. I looked at Papi with a worried look and then made up my mind. It was now or never.
"I am not going anywhere with you, you liar" I said in a shaky voice. I was a good hypocrite, I was taught by the best.
"What are you talking about?" Papi asked letting go of my shoulders.
"When were you going to tell me all this dad? That everything I know and you have taught me about running a ranch is a lie? You've always dismissed me when I ask questions because you didn't want me to find out about your dirty business" I said and took in a deep breath. His look was enough to make me laugh, because he looked like he had seen a ghost.
"What are you doing?" He asked suddenly aware of the people around us.
"So you want to shut me up again? I wouldn't even have known if you didn't threaten my husband to do your dirty work for you. I'm so glad Ramirez warned me before you dragged him to your business" I continued firmly. He shot a glare at Ramirez who remained expressionless.
"I don't know what you are trying to do but you better shut up and get in the goddamed helicopter before things get out of hand" he said then pulled my arm. I tried to wriggle out of his firm hold but he was too strong. No one showed up. I couldn't believe our plan failed, tears stung my eyes.

"Let go of her, this is the police" I heard the voice of my salvation. I looked behind to find police officers lined holding up their weapons. Everybody got shocked, except for Papi, Ramirez and I. He let go and lifted his hands in surrender, so did everybody else.
"Drop your weapons. On your knees with hands on your heads" a police officer said and the henchmen seeing they were outnumbered followed the orders. Sean, Ramirez and Papi's men eventually followed and me and Papi were left standing.
Three officers started looking around and in a matter of seconds they found the boxes containing the weapons. Papi seeing they were distracted for a while took his gun from his right boot and shot at an officer right in the chest. His men seeing the action reached for their weapons on the ground and started shooting at the officers. Papi pushed me to the ground and ran away. I was not going to let him go, I reached for my gun secured around my thigh and ran after him in hot pursuit.
I reached a corner and just as I made a turn I heard a gunshot and then saw blood flowing down my arm. I retreated, applying pressure to my wound at the top of my left arm.
"I can't believe you set me up you bitch, you are going to die today and join your mother wherever the fuck she is" he shouted from his position. I peeked and saw his hand with the gun pointed at my direction and took in a deep breath. He shot again, but he missed. I then looked at his direction and aimed for his hand then pulled the trigger, his gun dropping to the floor. I walked up to him and shot his knee cap forcing him to fall to the ground. I kicked his gun away from him and aimed mine at his head.
"But you made your bed, lie on it. Let's just say I beat you at your own pathetic game" I spat my eyes on his. He looked at me with no sign of defeat and glared at me wincing in pain.
"At least I will die knowing that I raised a hypocrite and a killer who is even a worse version of me" he said smiling wickedly at me. My temper rose to the roof and I stepped on his bleeding knee enjoying the pleasure of seeing him cry out in pain. He screamed then laughed lifelessly shutting his eyes as if he was enjoying this as much as it was painful.
I cocked my gun. It was time this pain in my ass died once and for all. The world would be better off without him, I would be safer when he ran out of existence.
"Vee stop!" Ramirez shouted as he came to a halt after running to where we were. I couldn't stop though, my finger was on the trigger and my emotions were like a big tornado in me, destroying every inch of humanity inside me. My eyes met Papi's evil ones and I felt tears build up in my eyes. I blinked them away and tried to control my scared heart.
"You promised, remember?" Ramirez said lowly to my ear. He had reached to where I was and was slowly taking the gun from my firm grip. I breathed quickly as the images of my mother flashed upon my eyes and the tears flowed freely and I didn't even try to stop them. The officers appeared and arrested Papi, with claims of weapon dealing, murder of an officer and many others I couldn't hear over the turmoil of emotions in my chest. I took in a shaky breath before I fell into Ramirez' arms and everything went black.
