"For god sake Aahana get the hell out your room!! We are running late!!" I said for the nth time today while banging her door.
And there she goes again with the same 'Just 2 minutes more' response.
I looked at my wristwatch and signed. It's already 6:45 p.m., and this missy is taking so much time to get ready as if it's her wedding today. It's the story of everyday. Whenever we have to attend an event or go to a party together, this Miss Supermodel takes hours just because she can't apply her eyeliner straight, or because either her heels do not match with her dress, or because of a last-minute wardrobe malfunction, and so on. The list just does not end. Just like today. And I'm absolutely sure that we'll be late today as well. We're the hosts for today, got dammit; we're supposed to be the first ones to be present there. But who am I kidding? The Miss India Universe will listen to no one when it comes to her fashion. I wonder how her stylists handle her tantrums. Poor souls.
Today is the launch party of Aahana's make-up brand,SLAY, which is in collaboration with Shekhawat and Daughter's. She's been working on this for the past 2 years, and I must say, her work is tremendous, considering she's not a business major. When she brought up this idea, I thought she'd ask for some advice or help from me. But to my surprise, she was ready with the whole business plan. I did help her in a few aspects, though, and here we are today, going to announce the brand launch. It's basically at the domestic level right now. She first thought to experiment in the country, to see if it works here or not. If it results in success here, then she'll think of converting it into a global brand.
That is, when we successfully reach the launch on time. Because it's been 7:05 p.m. now and the owner is still not ready. I hate it when people do not value time. When they are not punctual with their commitments. It's the most deteriorating trait that can be in someone's personality. My dad has always taught me, 'One should always respects time'. And through the course of the twenty eight years of my existence, I've practically witnessed its credibility. I've never been late for anything. But guess they say it right-there's always a first time. And I think today is going to be it.
I again banged her door and shouted, "Aahana trust me, if you didn't come out in 3 seconds, I'll freaking break this damn door. And the I'll never fix it, EVER AGAIN!!"
I was losing my patience now. And I was literally on the verge of breaking her door when it creaked open and Aahana walked out. Maybe she sensed the frustration in my voice that made her run out instantly. She was wearing a black colored formal suit with a corset top, twinning with me but in a different color. I was wearing white. My gaze was fixed on her, who was frantically fixing her earrings and trying to tie her heels. This girl, I tell you!
I held her hand and pulled her, making her sit on the nearby stool while kneeling down and fixing her heels. They are at least 5 inches, sleek black pencil heels, and I mentally palmed my face, knowing very well the outcome of this. They will make her feet sour, and in the middle of the party, she'll take them off, walking barefoot, and I, as always, will have to carry them. The things I do for this lady!
