This morning was pure chaos. The moment I stepped inside the building, a list of meetings was placed in front of my eyes. I had planned to get here early so that I could complete my work on time and pay a visit to the school construction site once to overlook the progress. It is a school for underprivileged children who, though they have big dreams, unfortunately lack the resources to pursue them. SM International Academy preserves their zeal and passion for a bright future, helping them achieve the milestones they seek.
Yes, you guessed it right. SM, as in Shekhar and Meera, my maa-papa. The ones who brought me into this world, who were not just my parents but my guiding angels, My hope, my strength, my everything. And so, I decided to name all of these projects after them: the founder of this institution and the creator of me. Aside from the business-associated institutes, all the other fields in which Shekhawat & Daughters is involved are all named after them, be it the SM chain of hotels, educational academies, universities, hospitals, etc. We were opening another educational branch in Pune, but because of the continuous meetings, I don't think I'll make it. Today sure does feel like Monday.
As I made my way out of the meeting room, Mr. Kadam followed behind, updating me on the current developments.
"EITA-21 is all set to be launched, ma'am. After the final meetings with the shareholders, we just need to seek the approval of the Chief Minister."
I nooded at his words. EITA-21: Enterprising Information Technology Arena-21 will be the first ever multidiamentional business platform, specially designed to taking into consideration the necessities of the 21st century. This has been my dream project for the past six years. I've been working my a** off to make it happen. If things go according to plan, this will bring a revolution not only in the business world but also in the world of computer science. That's why I've been personally involved in all of its progress, guiding my tech team in each and every aspect of its preparation. I can't afford to make even a single mistake on this project.
As I entered my cabin, I was amazed by the sight of my most-awaited guest on a busy Monday. Mr. Ajay Malhotra. (Do note the sarcasm.)
He was sitting so casually in the seat opposite mine, scrolling through his phone, and didn't even stand up to acknowledge my presence. He just glanced at me, raised an eyebrow, and went back to surfing through his phone.
THE AUDACITY!!!!
My fists clenched inside my pocket as I glared at him, boring holes through his already empty head. Mr. Kadam, sensing the heated environment, swiftly excused himself, leaving me with this moron. When he didn't respond, I signed and calmly sat down in my seat. It was only then that he lifted his face and gave me a mocking smile.
"Hey fiancé." He spoke, his voice laced with tons of sarcasm.
I rolled my eyes and pinched the bridge of my nose, easing the frustration bubling inside me. I've been attending meetings after meetings since 7 in the morning, and this clown here is just irritating me to the core. He surely has a death wish.
