"Good morning.."
A soft yet sweet as honey voice fell on my ears as I felt butterfly kisses all over my right cheek. I turned around in my sleep and pulled her closer to me while she purred in my ears.
"Get up, pretty boy. It's dawn already." She said this while I shook my head lazily, snuggling closer to her and enjoying her warmth.
"Mm...let me sleep some more, please." I requested, to which she chuckled softly and started tickling me through her hair all over my face while chanting, 'Get up,Get up.'
"No....please.." I whined like a kid while trying to avoid it, but she continued to rub her hair over my eyes, cheeks, below my neck, and just when her hair touched the corner of my nose...
"Acchhuuuu...."
I jolted awake from my sleep, my eyes still closed, trying to sit up straight. While I straightened, two more sneezes accompanied the first one, making all the sleep vanish from my eyes. I slowly opened my eyes and saw that I was in my room, and as I turned towards the other side, I found it empty.
I released a long breath and laid back on the headrest, signing dreamily. My eyes closed on their own, and a lazy smile stretched through my lips.
'What a dream.' I thought, feeling a little giddy, remembering my dream.
"Acchhhuuu.." But another sneeze brought me back and I signed in frustration. Both my nostrils were blocked as a result of being drenched yesterday. I'm not very sensitive towards these things, but considering the amount of time we spent there under the pouring sky, I'm surprised that it was just a slight cold and not pneumonia.
As I thought about the rain, all the events from yesterday started revolving around in my mind. The kidnapping, our escape, the way her lips touched mine, the way she held my hand while we were running, my confession, and then that hug. The way we just melted against each other-that was the most precious moment of my life. We fit so perfectly together, just like two pieces of a puzzle molded just for each other.
I could feel my cheeks heating up just remembering the way she held my face in her palm. I slowly lifted my hand and caressed the area where she had touched me, and I could still feel the lingering traces of her presence there. How much I wish to just run back into her arms and stay there, forever.
Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind. She was soaked too in the rain; what if she had caught a cold as well? What if she is sick as well? Worry took over me as I thought of her getting sick and being all alone, without anyone to care for her. I quickly searched for my phone but couldn't find it.
I shuffled here and there, trying to locate my cell phone, but it was nowhere in sight.
"Searching for this, brother?"
I snapped my head in the direction of the voice to find Kaurav standing there at the threshold of my room, leaning sideways at it while waving my phone in his hand. Looking at him, all the scenes from the launch party came running through my head, and I jerked my head away from him. I was still angry with him regarding his behavior that day.
