Wonwoo

It was warm and humid when we stepped off the airplane and went down the steps to the black limousine waiting for us. There was a heady scent in the air, but I couldn't quite place it.

I saw a few signs, but they were at a distance, and I couldn't read what they said. I glanced around once last time to try and figure out where we were but then climbed into the limo.

"Figure it out yet?" Mingyu asked as he slid in beside me.

"No."

He chuckled.

"Give me a hint?"

"Benvenuto in Italia."

My brow flickered and I quickly glanced out the window. Hell, I practically pressed my nose against it before glancing back at Mingyu in shock. "We're in Italy? You actually brought me to Italy?"

"Si, si, questa e l'Italia."

I gasped as I turned to stare out the window again. I'd traveled all over the world for my work, but never for pleasure. And I had never been to Italy.

"My friends Jake and Jai are loaning us their villa for the week."

Shock dropped my jaw as I turned to Mingyu again. "A villa?"

"Yes," he grinned. "We get the whole place to ourselves for the week. It's a three-hundred-year-old villa set on the edge of Lake Como, with beachfront access and a boat to take us wherever we want to go on the lake."

"Oh, a boat ride on the lake."

Mingyu grabbed my hand and brought it to his lips, pressing a kiss to the top. "We can take one whenever you want, baby."

I grinned and leaned over to press a kiss to his cheek. "Thank you, Mingyu."

The rest of the ride was exhilarating. We passed through a city filled with iconic buildings that I had only seen in movies and magazines. After a while, we drove into the countryside filled with large fields of grapes and olive trees and then up through mountains and curving roadways.

By the time we pulled into a gated driveway, I was tired from the drive but excited to see everything. As soon as I stepped out of the limo, I hurried over to the edge of the villa and looked out over the lake.

Wow. Just wow.

I'd seen pictures of the pristine lake, of course, but to see it in real life?

Amazing.

Mingyu's arm settled on my shoulder. "Why don't we go in and get cleaned up and changed and then we can go find some lunch? We're within walking distance of a few restaurants. I'm sure we can find something we like."

I was on my honeymoon with a handsome man at a villa on Lake Como.

I'd eat grass if I had to.

I glanced up at Mingyu. "You did say my suitcase was here, right?"

"Yes, someone will take it to our room for us."

"Good, because I've been wearing these clothes for two days. I'd really like to put on something clean. I might also need to buy a few things. I only packed for a couple of days thinking I'd be back in New York by now."

"We can do some shopping after we have lunch. I'm sure there are some shops in town we can visit."

That would be good. I only had a few changes of clothes in my suitcase, and none it fit for a vacation in Italy.

I took one last look at the beautiful lake and then walked with Mingyu into the villa. I sucked in a breath when I got a good look at the inside of the place. I had thought the outside was stunning, but it had nothing on the inside.
