When Jake awoke the following morning, he was alone in the bed, his hand patting over the mattress before looking up to see his curtains already open.
His eyes scanned over the room, finding Raleigh in the centre, just away from the beds as he seemed to be practising some form of martial art, at least that's what Jake assumed from the man's tight, controlled pose, one leg kicking out as he exhaled through pursed lips. He was shirtless, a little bit of sweat glistening on his dark, shaven skin and Jake let his eyes wander down his chest to the dip of his hip bones.
"You know," Raleigh grinned, holding up his leg in the air as he turned around to face Jake, "It's rude to stare."
He held the move for a further five seconds, then lowered his leg, shaking it to loosen up.
"I didn't know you could do that." Jake pushed himself into a sitting position, "It's impressive."
Raleigh grabbed his pyjama shirt and dabbed his forehead, "Well, you know. Had a big Bruce Lee phase as a kid, got into kickboxing, karate, judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Certainly helped in school, like I said, got used to washing blood out my clothes."
"My dad knows some tai chi." Jake said, "He took a few classes when I was a kid, wanted me to come with him, but mum hated violence. I guess that explains why I'm so lousy at defending myself."
He wondered briefly if he'd let too much slip with that utterance, watching Raleigh intently but thankfully, the other man didn't force him to elaborate.
"I find it relaxing." he instead stated, "In times of crisis, it centres me, and it keeps me looking good."
Jake snarked, "So very humble."
"But not wrong." the other man winked, "I've seen you look at me, I know you agree."
Jake couldn't help the smile on his face, pushing up from the bed, "No comment." he walked over to him, "At least I know I'll have you to protect me if I'm in danger." he cocked his head as he wandered toward him, "My hero."
"I could show you something if you want." Raleigh offered.
Jake asked, "What, teach me how to fight?"
"More so defend yourself if you're ever grabbed." Raleigh came up behind him, his hand settling on his waist, "I'm going to wrap my arms around you, is that okay?"
Jake replied a little too eagerly, "Yes!"
"Good." Raleigh's arms then encircled him, his back flush against the other man's chest.
Raleigh was taller than Jake, his chin resting on his shoulder, but what Jake really seemed to notice in that minute was the press of his centre against him. He couldn't help the trembling breath that escaped him, or the twist of arousal in his stomach, made worse by the feeling of Raleigh's breath on the hairs of his neck.
It made him feel like he was a hormonal fifteen year old again as he looked up into the other man's eyes, almost missing his words.
"Okay." Raleigh swallowed thickly, also clearly affected by their compromising position (though Jake could already tell that from the way he shuffled his hips away from him to hide his own growing arousal), "Take your elbow, drive it into my side."
Jake's voice trembled breathily, "Wha— what?"
It was hot, too hot and he could barely focus on the other man's words, his gaze travelling over his arms, his neck, his mouth as he felt Raleigh's fingers digging into his hips.
"Elbow me." Raleigh requested, a little firmer.
Jake did, hard, making the other man gasp and stumble a little, his arms falling away.
