It feels like I'm being watched all day, every day. No matter how many times I look around my surroundings, I find nothing. And it's so frustrating. Even when I'm at home. It's almost as if someone set up a camera in every room of my house...

Thankfully, today is Saturday, so I don't have to go to school. But I felt someone staring at me. I groaned and shook my head.

'You're being paranoid. Stop thinking about it, Y/N.'

As I stood in the bathroom, brushing my teeth, I suddenly felt like I was forgetting something. It wasn't an unfamiliar feeling. I probably did forget something. But what?

I rinsed out my mouth and wiped it off with a washcloth before going back into my bedroom. I sat on my bed and glanced at my phone, which sat on the nightstand. A notification went off. I grabbed it and looked to see what it was. Someone texted me? It was from an unknown number. I opened the text and saw what it said.

'Hi!'

I blinked, confused, and texted them back.

'who is this?'

The person responded quickly, almost too quickly.

'It's Ayato, remember? I asked you to hang out today!'

Oh yeah... I kinda don't want to go anymore, but I don't wanna be rude.

'okay

'when was the time?'

'2:30'

I checked the time. It's 2:00. Damn.

'okay I'll be there'

'Great! See you then!'

I put my phone down and went to my wardrobe, not in too much of a rush. It's cold outside; I wouldn't be surprised if it starts snowing.

I picked out a white turtleneck and baggy white pants with a(n) F/C jacket over it. I left my hair down to keep my ears warm and put on a(n) F/C scarf before leaving my room.

"I'm going to the park! I'll be back!" I called out as I went downstairs.

"Ooh! What's the occasion?" Mui, who was sitting on the couch alongside Yui, asked.

"I'm going to hang out with someone," I said as I slipped on some boots over my socks.

"Hang out? With a boy?"

Yui perked up to that and quickly turned to look at me.

"It better not be a boy!" He huffed.

"You're literally, like, two minutes older than me. Give me a break," I huffed, "See you later."

I walked outside and shut the door behind me. The cold breeze immediately hit me. I should've brought some gloves or mittens.

"Y/N-chan!"

I looked up and saw the emotionless boy standing in front of the gates of my house, waving me over. That's odd. I walked over to him, remembering his name in the process. I think it's... Ayato? Yes. When I got in front of him, he gave me a once-over, and his smile widened.

"You look so pretty!" He complimented.

"Thanks... How do you know where I live?" I questioned.

He looked at me with wide eyes. He laughed nervously and glanced away.

"Um... Well, my house is just down the street, so I see you walking home from school...!"

I inspected his facial expression. It doesn't seem like he's lying. Not necessarily, anyway. Maybe I just didn't notice him.

"Are your hands cold, Y/N-chan?" Ayato asked as we walked along the path.

My hands were, indeed, shaking. It was a lot colder than I expected. I really should've brought mittens or gloves.

"Yeah," I replied, stuffing my hands in my jacket pockets.

He glanced up and eyed something for a moment. My gaze followed his, and I noticed a small building. It looked like a cozy coffee shop.

"I can get you some hot chocolate if you'd like!" He offered.

"Oh... That'd be nice, thank you."

His grin widened ever so slightly, and he gently tugged me along to the coffee shop. We both got some hot chocolate, and the heat that radiated from the cup almost immediately warmed up my hands. I took a sip of the hot chocolate, the marshmallows that they added in melted into the liquid. I glanced over at Ayato, who wasn't drinking his own hot chocolate, but instead staring at me. Upon meeting my gaze, he immediately went to drink his own. He's odd. But he's not bad.

We found a bench in the park and sat in silence, drinking out hot chocolate. It wasn't an awkward silence, though. It was comfortable, actually.

"Y/N-chan! Is that you?!"

I could recognize that voice from anywhere. I looked to my left and saw Mitsuri, accompanied by Kyojuro, running over to us.

"Y/N-chan!!!" She squealed, immediately pulling me into a hug, "Oh, it's so good to see you again!"

"Everyone at Kimetsu has missed you since you and your brothers left! How have you been?" Kyojuro asked in that boisterous voice of his.

"Fine, I guess," I said, sipping my hot chocolate.

"Ooh! And who are you? A new friend of Y/N-chan?" Mitsuri asked, turning her attention to Ayato, whose gaze had darkened ever so slightly.

"Yeah... Friend... Aishi Ayato," he grumbled.

"Well, a friend of Y/N-chan is a friend of mine! My name is Kanroji Mitsuri, and this is Rengoku Kyojuro! It's nice to meet you, Aishi-kun!"

"Uh-huh..."

"Well, we best get going! Don't want to stay too long!" Kyojuro said.

"Oh, right! You know, we should all do a hangout sometime, Y/N-chan! With everyone at Kimetsu and all of your friends over at Akademi! Think about it! See ya!"

With a wave, she skipped away with Kyojuro.

"Their hair colors are... unique," Ayato said, watching them go.

I nodded, finishing the last of my hot chocolate before throwing the empty cup into the nearby trash can.

"They're nice. Loud, but nice," I said, standing.

I looked up at the sky and was met by a small white flurry. It fell on my nose and melted. It was followed by multiple other flurries. Snow. It's so pretty... In my awe, I didn't notice how Ayato stared at me more hungrily. Nor did I notice the silver-haired boy who watched the both of us from afar, his eyes narrowed into a harsh glare.
