Ace had put together a fine crew, he was growing stronger each day while climbing up and becoming a renowned pirate, heck he even got the powers of a devil fruit even if he hadn't planned on it. And yet, when he saw for the first time in what he felt an eternity your picture on a wanted poster for being a part of the whitebeard crew he couldn't help but wonder if he still wasn't doing enough. He asked himself what had made you join that crew, made up of an old man when we was trying his best in order to find you and let you join his crew.
He felt a bit crumbled at as he continued to stare at your picture, having a swirl of feelings, but one that was more prominent was the feeling of wanting to show you how much greater of a pirate he could be than that old timer, maybe then he wouldn't lose you once again. And thus his strive to be greater than whitebeard grew more, not just to become closer to be the pirate king, but to finally reach you and this time not let go.
