It's so Messy

She ended up falling asleep in my room last night. It's fine, no one caught us. I guess my favorite TV show bored her to sleep. I think we were only 10 minutes in. I just woke up. She is still asleep in my arms and I don't want to wake her. I give her a small kiss on the head and then grab my phone and start quietly scrolling through TikTok.

After about half an hour she starts to stir.

"Good morning," I say.

"Good morning," She says back and hides her face in my body.

"How did you sleep?" I ask.

"Your ribcage isn't a very good pillow but the circles being drawn on my back all night were comforting," She says.

Yeah, I couldn't sleep last night. I fell asleep for maybe an hour. We were awkwardly positioned and I didn't want to wake her up for her to move.

"Want to go have breakfast?" I ask. I can hear Levi yelling downstairs, sounds like he is helping my mom cook. He loves to scream over the splattering pans.

"Five more minutes" She says.

After five minutes of her waking up, we head downstairs.

"Good morning" my mom says to us as we sit at the table

"Good morning" I say back.

"So what's the plan for today?" Collin asks.

"Well I was thinking Jessie and I could go out and do something today," My mom says.

Jessie looked very surprised. "Really?" She asks

"Yeah. We can go do whatever you want" My mom says.

"Yeah, I'd like that," Jessie says.

"Do you want to come?" My mom asks me.

"No thank you," I say.

I would love to have my mother 3rd wheel a date between Jessie and I but I know Jessie needs a mom figure right now. I'm not gonna intrude.

"So what are the three of us going to do today?" Collin asks.

"Oh, I'm not hanging out with you. Go take your son to laser tag" I say.

"Yes! That is a great Idea!" Levi exclaims.

Once we finish breakfast we all start getting ready for our plans. I go into my room, pick up my phone and call Elle.

"Hey," I say when she answers. She says hi back. "Want to hangout today?"

"Oh my god, you're finally not taking your girl out on a date," She says.

"No my mom kidnapped her from me today," I say.

"How rude of her" She jokes. "I'll be there in 45 minutes," She says.

"Sounds great. See you then" I say and we hang up.

When Elle arrives I take her into my room. Levi and Collin have already left so it is just us here.

"You need to spill everything. You have been so MIA lately. I can barely get a text back from you anymore" Elle says as she plots herself on my bed.

"Ok well fair date, thank you for that by the way" I say.

"Did you stick to the schedule?" She asks.

"We went a little off track but I got us back on after a while"

"At least you didn't go off track on a ride" She jokes.

"Please don't say that. I'm going to Disney World tomorrow"

I fill Elle in on everything, my fight with Creepy Casey last week, Jessie asking me to date her and not the other way around, her coming out to her mother and father, and how my dad ties into that. She filled me in on that guy she was seeing at the beginning of the summer, whose name I can't even remember, and how he ended up going back to his ex and was just using her as a rebound. She ran into Creepy Casey the other day. She was overly nice to him thinking he was a heartbroken little bitch but once she heard my Creepy Casey story she regretted that. Apparently, his crime lord father is taking him to California next week to go tour schools. I hope he goes, not because he deserves it but because I want him out of my state.

Elle and I could sit here shit-talking for hours but unfortunately, hunger does exist so we decide to go out to the local sports bar to get food and drinks. Elle's father is friends with the owner so he knows we're not 21 but they serve us drinks anyway.

"So how does this whole thing with Jessie work? Are you two just waiting for your parents to break up or are you going to tell them and then run away to another country to be together?" Elle asks when we get our food.

I don't want to be talking about this out in public but no one is here right now. "We actually only talked about this for the first time last night. We agreed that when they leave for the summer we mutually break up and act like it never happened"

"So you left your long-term boyfriend for a summer fling?" She asks

"Yeah basically" I say.

"That's so messy I love it" She says and takes a sip of her drink.
