Later that afternoon, Melanie, Ian, and Friday sat at the control table, watching the parents take their seats in the assembly. Susan came up to them with another girl about the same age as her. She looked quite funny decked out in her bright red costume. It pained Ian not to burst out into a fit of laughter.
"Hello" Susan greeted.
"Hi" Melanie said giving her a warm smile.
Susan turned to the girl next to her "I'd like you to meet my cousin Charlie. Charlie this is Melanie, Friday, and Ian."
Charlie was a tall girl, with dark brown hair and bright blue eyes.
"Are you aware you've got a boy name" Friday said without thinking. Melanie kicked her in the back of her ankle.
"Are you aware your named after a day of the week" Charlie laughed.
"Fair" Friday chuckled.
Friday already knew she was going to be good friends with Charlie.
"She's joining HighCrest next week, so I'm introducing her to everyone so she can have a head start of getting to know everyone" Susan continued "I thought it be good for her to get to know the detectives first."
This made Charlies face light up with curiosity "Detective?"
"Yeah" Susan giggled "Friday is normally the one solving the cases, but these two help."
Ian scoffed "Ouch."
"But today Melanie solved the case..." Susan continued, she walked over Colin and Ivan and introduced them to Charlie.

Back to real time.
"Wow" Leo yawned, rolling over in his bed "Auntie Melanie solved the case."
"Yep" Friday said getting up and tucking him in.
"Did Dad ever solve a case" Astrid whispered, her eyes almost closing.
Ian gently laid her down into her bed and said "Well, you see I helped a..."
Friday sniggered "He didn't."
"Can you tell us another story" Astrid whined; she was about to fall asleep. Ian glanced at Friday and smiled that (This is so cute) smile.
"Absolutely not" Friday laughed and kissed her on the cheek.
"Tomorrow" Leo whispered, giving his dad a hug.
"Mabey" Ian said. The crept out of the room and turned off the lights.
