Ara’s POV
A loud crash reverberated through the room, followed by the sound of Jieun's hurried footsteps as she scrambled to pick up broken glass pieces.
Yoongi is entering the room, cursing his sister for being so clumsy. “Seriously Jieun, can't you be a little bit careful.”
Jungkook is following behind him. Taehyung hasn’t come, not like I expected him to come anyway.
“What happened here?” I asked, blinking away the remnants of sleep, I sat up and took in the scene. “Did something break?”
Jieun looked up with an apologetic smile. “Oh, did I wake you up? It just slipped from my hands.”
“Leave it,” I said, moving to get out of bed. “You'll hurt yourself.”
Yoongi continued to grumble, cursing his sister for being so clumsy, and pulled her up where she was trying to pick shredded pieces of glass jar by her bare hands.
Jungkook came behind him. Taehyung hasn’t come, not that I expected him to come anyway.
“I heard you all went to school. Leaving me here alone.” I said pouting.
“Yes. Remember someone forcefully registered us for the welfare program?” Jungkook complained and came near the bed and kissed my forehead.
I giggled at his complaint.
“Thank God, you’re alright. But I am so mad at you, Ara. Why would you do that?”
“I am fine Kook and I am sorry.”
And the guilt returns.
He saw the expression changing on my face. “Just don’t do it next time. Or at least bring me in.”
That made me laugh.
“Okay, I will.” Jieun glared at both of us.
“Don’t include her.” He wrinkled her nose at her which made her roll her eyes.
“Don't support her in her stupidity, Jungkook. Neither her nor you, will ever go to that damned forest ever again.” Yoongi scolded us while throwing the shards wrapped in paper and then polythene into the dustbin.
Jungkook sighed and glanced at Yoongi. “At least, it's better than her going there alone.”
Yoongi raised an eyebrow and glared at Jungkook, making his shoulders slump. “We won't,” Jungkook muttered. “I was just saying that.”
“So what did you all do, today?” I asked them, trying to ease the tension. Yoongi never scolds Jungkook. He must be so upset.
Or scared?
“It was the last day so no fun. It was boring without you. The school has to understand that best friends need holidays together.” Jieun said
We all laughed together, and Uncle joined the conversation, saying, “Well, I have to talk to your next school in this regard.” He said this while patting mine and Jieun’s heads. He loves doing that.
“Don’t say that, Dad. I’ll get my hopes up.” Uncle laughed, looking at her dearly, when she was making a pout. They are close.
I wonder if our bond would have been like this if Dad had been here. I am not jealous, but I miss my dad, and Uncle Mark knows he is alive.
He turned his attention towards me and pecked my forehead. My eyes welled up at his sudden action. I blinked my tears away because I did not want to ruin this beautiful moment.
