~COME BACK~

Ara's POV

The infamous mansion.

So beautiful that I forgot to blink. I stood up and walked towards it.

I remember exactly how it looked.

The old, rumored, and dangerous mansion where the monster was trapped, stood tall and proud in front of me as if it were teasing me for being a small creature

The old, rumored, and dangerous mansion where the monster was trapped, stood tall and proud in front of me as if it were teasing me for being a small creature.

It appears abandoned at first glance but it is clear that someone has been taking care of it, though it is minimal.

If it were left alone, it would have a deteriorating facade with peeling paint, overgrown vines, and broken windows.

The overgrown vines and moss that cover the exterior have not completely taken over, but they were trimmed back from the gates and windows. The garden was mowed, and the flowers were blooming in the bushes.

These small details could tell that someone was living there or at least visiting frequently enough to keep up with basic maintenance tasks.

However, the level of care was so low, that the mansion's overall appearance somewhat appeared neglected and eerie.

Despite the fact that I had never been there before, it felt strangely familiar and friendly, rather than foreign.

Very Strange!

Yes, that was one strange feeling. Everything was strange about this whole scenario.

Why did I want to come here despite being dangerous in the forest? Even if it was not about proving my mother wrong, I would have come here anyway.

Why did I feel this strong pinch in my heart when Mom told me about the forest and especially about him?

I wanted to know so badly if that was true.

Why do I feel a connection to this place and this mansion?

It is weird.

The feeling I was getting while looking at the giant building, the feeling that the house is not alone, the feeling that there's someone here who is looking at me.

Of course, there is someone; that's why I came here, no?

I tried to look here and there, but no one. Realizing that no one was gonna come out to greet me and invite me in, I opened the huge iron gates.

I remember the pavement at the front of the gate that was leading to the house, the first step I took, and the rustling and crushing of leaves under my foot.

I remember me, who was standing at the front of the gate and hesitating to enter it. The shiver was due to the sudden cold wind passing through.

I remember the hesitancy about whether I should enter or not.
