"My father's Poseidon?" I ask Percy, stunned.
"That can't be right, I know my dad, and believe me he's no god"
"Looks like someone's been lying to you." Percy said flatly. I stand there staring at him.
In one hand I'm shocked. I would've thought my mother was a goddess, I barely knew her. She went missing when I was 3 and it's been me and my dad ever since. Sure there has been a few girlfriends here and there but nothing serious.
On the other I'm relieved, honestly, i will sleep better knowing that I'm not blood related to that monster.
While lost in thought I walked over to the cliffs edge and sat. Percy was next to me, we stayed there for a while.
In the distance I hear loud footsteps. My adrenaline spikes and I stand up ready for a fight. Percy doesn't move from his spot at the edge of the cliff. He looks up at me in confusion.
I'm about to ask him a question when a large black figure emerges out of the woods. I can't make out any features, only that he's fricken huge, like a living shadow.
"Percy!" I yell, hoping for backup.
"What?" He looks at me confused.
"Do you not see the massive shadow man coming towards us?!"
"No?" Percy picks up his sword and stands next to me.
The shadow dashes forward, he reaches to grab me and I retaliate with a weak downward slash of my sword. It passes right through his arm and my sword falls to the ground.
He picks me up and throws me behind him. into a tree, I gotta say this is the weirdest game of capture the flag I've ever played.
I hit the tree, my back hitting first, then my head. I try to stay focused but unconscious takes me.

Holy hades. I have a sister. This is awesome!
I do feel bad for her though, being a child of the big three is really hard. You never catch a break, you're always needed for something and everyone around you is either terrified or in awe of what you can do. It's a lifetime of isolation.
I'm broken out of my thoughts by Alannah screaming my name.
"What?" I look over to where she's standing. She's ready for a fight, I just don't see what she's fighting. Maybe she heard some of the capture the flag commotion?
"Do you not see the massive shadow man coming towards us?!" Her face is pure terror.
I grab my sword and stand ready next to her, whatever she's seeing will have to go through me first. Before I can identify the target, Alanna slashes the air with her sword and screams as she gets thrown into the woods.
I run towards her and feel a dark presence, something I haven't felt since- y'know. I can sense its proximity to me and with my best guess, I attack.
It didn't look like celestial bronze did anything to it, according to alannah's attempted attack. I need another solution, something more powerful.
Eyes closed, I feel the lake in its entirety, I feel the creatures who've made it their home, I feel the creeks and streams branching away from it, I feel the campers
In their canoes. With the familiar tug in my gut setting in I will a large wave up the cliff, my thoughts filled with anger as the water pushes past me. I aim it at the dark presence and let go.I fall to one knee and slowly open my eyes. Before me is a twelve foot tall, frozen creature. The ice doesn't hold long and it breaks free, I can feel its energy fleeing.
I pull myself up off the ground and rush over to Alanna. She's still alive, for now, her skull is cracked and blood is pooling beneath her.
I can't loose her already, I just found out I had a sister and she's being taken from me. I hold her tight to my chest.
Wait. She's my sister.
I pick her up and run to the edge of the cliff, without hesitation I jump. Falling into the water.
We sink to the bottom and I watch to see if her wounds are healing. They're not.
I curse in Ancient Greek. We need the ocean, not some stupid lake. Just as quickly as I thought it, I felt a pull in my gut and we were just off the coast of Long Island.
A few nymphs appeared and took her into their care. They willed the power of the ocean to heal her wounds.
I floated there under the ocean, in my domain, a place where I am most powerful and felt powerless. I could do nothing as I watched them do their thing.
"Do not worry son of Poseidon, she will be healed momentarily, you did everything you could." One of the nymphs bowed and swam back over to Alannah.
Moments later they handed her unconscious body over to me, she had no more visible wounds. But I know better than anyone the mental ones will stick with her for a long time.
The nymphs waved and brought us back to the lake as quickly as we left.
I head straight for the infirmary, ignoring any stares or whispers I get on my way. I can feel Annabeth following silently, probably knowing I don't feel like talking.
"She is okay, I healed her, she needs rest, and a private place to sleep." I said sternly to one of the healers.
He looks up at me scared, or intimidated I'm not sure but I'm too tired to care.
I slump down onto a chair outside her room and Annabeth finds a spot next to me.
"What happened?"
"She was attacked in the woods."
"I kinda guessed that, I meant what happened to you?"
I look at her confused, which is a normal occurrence, but this time I was met with the same look back at me."Look at your arms." She pulls my arm towards her, studying it. I pull it away and examine it myself.
Covering both my arms were glowing teal tattoos, the design like rivers through my skin, mixed with a few Greek characters intertwined.
"Blessing of the sea." Annabeth sounded thrilled, I of course didn't know what the hell that was.
"Blessing of the sea?" I stare at her questionably.
"You know eventually I thought you'd grow out of this whole seaweed brain thing." She replied sarcastically.
