Britney's P.O.V
***************
I woke up to someone shaking me violently. Normally I would've kicked them away but after that movie last night, I shot up like a spring.
"Nia? What the hell are you doing you practically gave me a heart attack!" I gasped holding my hand around my neck.
"The entire forest at the end of town is a crisp!" She cried out getting up from my bed and turning on the tv. She flicked it to the news and I couldn't believe my eyes.
She was right. The entire thing, burnt down to nothing but thin, charred sticks growing from the ground.
"How did that happen?" I furrows my eyebrows and crossed my arms on y lap.
"They're still trying to figure that out, they can't find a single reason for it." She sighed sitting down in bed next to me.
"Looks like we'll have to find somewhere else to go camping now huh." I pouted and fell over on my side lying my head on her shoulder.
"Looks like it." She chuckled wrapping her arms around my shoulders.
Those woods were famous around here. Everyone would go to them for camping, having parties, or just to get away from everything. You would never see any animals there other than the occasional bird or squirrel. They were the safest place around here. Now they were just a burnt mess.
"Well now that that's over with, I'm going back to bed." She smirked and got up shutting off the tv.
"Are you kidding me? Do you know how long it took me to close my eyes and keep them closed?!" I groaned falling back into my bed, my hair fanning out around me.
"Well I though you would want to know about this terrible tragedy." She scoffed holding her hand over her chest, every word dripping in sarcasm.
"Oh just go to bed." I sighed taking a pillow and holding it over my head.
"Well fine cranky." She laughed and shut off the light before running off back to her room.
When I heard her door shut I slid the pillow from my face and hugged it to myself. How could something like this happen? AltonWood wasnt a hot place, in fact it was the opposite of everything warm and sunny. The sun would shine about twenty times a year, the rest of the year it was covered over with clouds. The temperature would never go over 80 degrees, and could drop to the point where if you poured water out of a cup the water would freeze right in front of you when it touched the ground.
How the hell would an entire forest burn here?
How the hell did that fire even start?
I could help but flick my mind to the gang, 'The Shadows'.
I highly doubted they would do this, I mean everything they do is to keep this town under their control so why would they destroy a part of it that everyone loved so much. If I wasnt them, then who? Or what.
I felt my eyelids getting heavier and my mind started drifting off to la la land again.
The last thing I remember,
Are those bright green eyes.
The next morning I woke up to the sun blinding me through my curtains.
I really need to get blinds.
I sighed and got up pulling the blanket along with me and hugged it tightly around myself. I walked over to my window and looked outside pleasantly surprised.
There was a light break in the clouds letting a few rays from the sun slip through, a light breeze blowing through the trees.
Not the warmest day, but still a nice day to take advantage of.
