Alex's P.O.V
*************
We pulled up in front of the house where the party was going on. Blake wasn't kidding when he said this was a well known thing, practically everyone from town was there.
It made everything that much more dangerous.
We all piled out of the car and did a quick look around of the scene.
There were kids already drunk, some getting there, and others just completely brain dead. The music made it nearly impossible to hear yourself think, let alone hear if anything was going on. The lights didn't help either, the constant flashing and blinking confused you and could easily make you dizzy if you focused on one for too long.
It was definitely a good place for 'The Sixes' to hit next.
I looked over and saw that familiar black car.
You've got to be kidding me.
She couldn't be here, not tonight, not with everything that could happen tonight.
I sighed and shook my head pulling my gaze away. Maybe it was someone else's car, there could easily be more people with that car.
"Who know there were this many hot girls in our little run down town." Drew smirked looking two girls over who walked by him as if they were a trophy winning car at a competition.
"Hey." I snapped my fingers in front of his face. "Focus, if you're not on your toes tonight everyone in this party could end up dead before you even have the chance to wake up your little friend down there." I spoke sternly into his ear so he could hear me.
He clenched his teeth and nodded looking around yet again.
"Alright." I shouted over the music looking around at the boys.
"We all split up, we cover more ground that way and hopefully find the people we're looking for quicker." I looked over my shoulder looking at the size of the house and it's backyard.
"I want Blake to take the pool area of the backyard, Drew stays here and keeps an eye out for them if they come later on, Trevor takes the opposite side of the house, Noah stays on the opposite end of the backyard and ill watch the inside of the house. Clear?" I looked around raising an eyebrow.
"You got it Archer." Noah sighed and swung his arm around Blake's shoulders as they each walked to the backyard and took their positions at opposite ends.
I checked the time on my watch and looked towards the opposite end of the house. "Keep your eyes sharp Trev, I don't see too many lights on that side and it doesn't look like people are allowed there, it makes it a perfect place for them to get through unnoticed."
"Don't worry mate, I've got it covered." He flashed a quick smile before jogging through the people and disappeared easily into the shadows.
Drew had taken his own spot under a tree where he could see everyone and everything, but he was well hidden and hard to spot unless you knew exactly where to look.
I licked my lips quickly and made my way inside the house. The music wasn't as loud inside which made it easier to hear conversations going around and the lights inside weren't affected which let you see everyone's faces clearly.
At first glance everything was alright, not legal, but alright. There's was a few kids smoking in a corner, another smaller group drinking for what seemed like the first time, and others just snogging wherever they could.
I rolled my eyes and made my way around them exploring around the house.
I couldn't help but remember when I lived in a house like this. I loved where I live now of course, but it's not the same. There's no comparison between the two whatsoever.
I lived with my closest friends in a big house that was practically isolated from the world, but sometimes it would get to be too much. It would get lonely and quiet in the house, not at all what people would expect. Anyone would expect it to be a party everyday, living with your best friends, but that's not the case. I see these boys everyday and I consider them the family I got to choose, but it's just not the same. It's not the same as waking up and seeing your parents talking and laughing in the kitchen, seeing your siblings run around and argue, only to make up a second later.
The last time I saw my family I was 13. That's when me and my older brother ran away, how we ended up in the gang.
My brother had gotten tired of my parents controlling him, he was 16 when we left. He had convinced me to leave with him because he told me in three years thats how they would be treating me, I didnt want that.
I left thinking I would have my freedom guaranteed, that me and my brother would see the world and live our lives together just exploring without a care in the world.
My two little sisters Kourtney and Haley were my life, I know I probably should've argued with them like all other siblings but it was the complete opposite. I loved them with all my life, I took it as my job to look over them and make sure that they were always happy and having fun.
My mother was someone out of this world. There was no such think as a kinder, more caring person than her. If she had three dollars in her pocket and you needed one, she would give you two. My father wasnt always around much, but they still got along well. He would come over and see us as much as he could and they could spend hours laughing about something that happened a week before.
I had a happy family.
I never would've thought that I would lose absolutely everything.
I felt my chest caving in on me and I quickly shook away my thoughts brining myself back down to this reality, not the one I used to have.
I was on the second floor of the house where everything had gone from snogging to practically doing it right then and there in the middle of the hallway.
I quickly turned on my heels keeping y eyes glued on my shoes and started making my way back down the hall towards the stairs.
But something stopped me.
Her.
That was her voice. I was sure of it.
I could hear her shouting from inside one of the rooms sounding a bit panicked.
I looked around waiting to hear something again but heard nothing.
Maybe I was just hearing things.
"Cole please, just stop, I don't want to do this please! Cole get off me!" I heard her frantic voice again and that's all it took for me to dash towards it without a second thought.
Without even thinking that the person she was talking to,
Was Cole Andrews.
