Estella stories - episode 004 - The beginning of Estella

part 29 The friendly natives

When they got across the bridge.
They arrived in the middle of a large clearing surrounded by mountains and rocks to make a hole the middle of which had round wooden huts and a roaring fire in the middle, the people of which were dancing around it having fun. Surrounding the area were tables covered in Bell Peppers, apples and other fruits and vegetables. At the back of the camp was a large lake full of fish with two water falls. She looked around seeing there were around 150 natives all staring at Estella fascinated by her clothes and her red hair. She noticed most if not all of them had face paint some weren't wearing shirts and had painted their chests with cool patterns. Estella seemed to be the youngest out of all of them, and wondered where the children were then noticed a huge building where the children were kept and grew up, she really liked the area, it was full of different art created by the natives which she really liked, and the natives were still being nice to her which was a real win for her.
They gestured to a large chair.
It was enormous, made of wood, the back rest was made of sticks the tops of which all had skulls, it reminded her of the sword chair from Game of Thrones but if it were made of sticks, she hadn't seen games of thrones, but figured everyone knew what that chair looked like even natives. She was a little confused, however they kept gesturing to the throne, so she sat down o it putting her arms on the arm rests. Estella noticed how comfortable it was considering it was made of wood. The same boy as before place a tray in front of her covered in apples and bell peppers there was also a large coconut with more coconut water. She picked up the coconut drinking some realizing she really liked coconut water more than normal water. She was shocked when a group of natives bought her a red pillow adorning a wooden crown. They carefully picked it up placing it on her head, it was a little too big for her however that was okay she would just have to push it back up every few minutes. They carefully picked it up placing it on her head. Estella sat back a little confused she looked around at them all then got the message "wait a minute, am I... am I your leader now?" they nodded to her. She smiled "cool, but why? I only got here like 2 days ago, and I'm just a kid" they asked her to follow them, so she did. They took her to an enormous cave, at the back was a strange looking monument. She got a little closer seeing it was of a woman with red hair watching down on little figures of the villages. She then realized something "wait a second, do you think... that's me, maybe it is me, it does look a lot like me" one of them explained "that is the God of the moons and sky" "that is pretty cool... you know I think this place is going to be alright... I'll be alright" she sighed in relief and happiness
Over the next few days.
Estella began to notice that weirdly enough the villagers seemed to perfectly understand English but didn't speak it, to make it easier for them, she used sign while also speaking. The first thing she did as leader was immediately beginning to look into how they hunted, it was truly fascinating they would go high up in trees and make loud screaming sounds which would guide the deer to a certain place they would then catch it, and then they would beat it to death however Estella thought of an easier way that didn't take as much energy and meant the deer didn't have to suffer as much. Estella began constructing them bamboo weapons, she remembered seeing on tick-tock which made her realize how much she missed it. She gave them to the hunters and saw how insanely powerful they were, hunting became a lot easier and defending their island became a hell of a lot easier which became a hell of a lot easier when a man arrived at the island and tried to kill them, luckily they used their new weapons to kill the man. Estella then discovered he had a map to treasure on the island and decided to keep it, she wanted to get off the island and knew if this man had a map maybe just maybe people would come looking for it and that would be how she got off the island. To make sure her new friends didn't kill the people who would help her, she decided to make a new rule that the people could only attack if she gave permission, and she had to see them first to make sure. After a few nights of her being the leader they had an enormous party, which involved Estella's favourite foods and even better they made her some red wine which she immediately had a taste for. She raised her glass to the heavens "cheers God" they also listened to her CD player which became something they loved.
Finally in the year 2020.
A large pirate ship was cruising through the ocean towards an island following a map. The boat was being captained by a pirate named Captain Carter. He began giving orders to his 'useless deck-apes' they were close to the island they believed their prisoner had escaped to. The captain was constantly looking out his telescope scanning for the island not yet seeing it. There were several islands around the area that the prisoner could have gone to and the island they were looking for was the last one they weren't even aware that the treasure was on the island as well. Eventually the captain spotted an island in the distance "land a-hoy!" he bellowed, swiftly running down the stairs' seeing his men running around looking excited because their mission could finally end. Excitement was running the captains his brain like a cheetah. They got on boats and rowed over to the island. When they arrived they started looking around for the map only finding the man's skeleton.
One of the men saw something.
He turned to the captain "guys there is someone over here" the figure in the distance began running away over the hill. The captain came over not seeing anyone "I think you've been drinking too much rum" "no, I swear someone was over there in the distance and the prisoner we found is covered in arrows someone put them there" they continued moving, suddenly they saw hundreds of people running through the forest they surrounded the men pointing spears at them, some were standings at a distance with wooden bows and arrows which was a new thing on the island from the suggestions from a certain someone. The captain calmly declared "take us to your leader, we need to talk to them, we are here looking for something" he figured the leader would know about where the map was because that made sense. They began walking them through the forest with the natives still pointing sharp spears at them. The pirates kept their hands up the entire hands in surrender, it made the natives feel better because they were unable to grab their swords or guns, so they had the upper hand. They bought them to a village with round wooden huts everywhere. In the corner was a large pile of rocks in a half circle getting higher as they got round then lower again. In the centre was a wooden chair turned away from the pirates. Natives went to the chair communicating with the sitter in sign language. The pirates looked worried about who was sitting in that chair to be leader of about 250 people must be a terrifying person. The chair was grabbed by 4 people and turned around slowly when the chair was fully turned around they were surprised by the fact it was a young girl sitting back wearing a black shirt and black leather trousers same clothes she had when she had been abandoned on the island. She had 3 necklaces of different animal bones and seashells around her neck. They thought at first she had her eyes open until she opened her eyes to reveal she had painted eyes on her eyelids because she thought it looked cool however it actually a really long time and a lot of skill to do. She was also wearing red paint under her eyes and a single line under her chin like war paint.
She smiled widely.
She began drumming her fingers along the arms of the chair which she did a lot she seemed to never be able to sit still at any point. This was of course Estella "evening captain, you are of course the captain of these pirates correct? My name is Estella" Estella looked around at the natives who all had their spears pointing at the men still looking terrified. She signed "leave them alone, they are not food today you know I don't agree with the eating of your own kind there is a lot better food everywhere you know Bell peppers and other shit. Go out and find deer then we will have a feast these men look hungry... also find me some bell peppers, I need a good snack" they nodded and ran off across the bridge into the woods beginning to hunt.
