Chapter Eleven The Bridge

Jayden's POV

It's Friday night and I'm eating pizza with Liz in my room. My phone lights up and I check to see what it was, a text from Hayes.
From Grier🙈: Hey Jay, would you like to come stay the weekend at the lake with my family? We leave tomorrow morning. Oh yeah, Cameron will be there too.
To Grier🙈: I'd love to. See you in the morning, Grier.
After that Liz helped me pack for the lake and then she went home. Then, for the rest of the night I watched Star stuck on Netflix and slowly drifted off to sleep.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I wake up and turn off my alarm. I must have set it before I went to sleep last night. Then, I quickly go through my morning routine; shower, hair, and clothes. I decide to pull my hair into a messy bun, it actually looks really good. Then, I change into some high waisted shorts and a fringe black crop top. After that, I check my phone and see I have one text from Hayes.
From Grier🙈: We're here to pick you up!
To Grier🙈: I'll be right out!

I grab my extra duffle bag that Liz helped me pack yesterday and my converse and walk out the door. I walk to their car and open the back door. I see Hayes, Nash, and Cam all stilling in the back with Skylynn in a bucket seat, so I take the bucket seat across from her. Elizabeth and Mr. Floyd are in the front.
"Hey Jayden honey, ready for a weekend at the lake?" Elizabeth says as we begin driving.
"Yes ma'am. Thank you for taking me with you." I say as I look back at Hayes.
"Oh, you're so welcome honey! Hayes did you here that, she's a keeper." Elizabeth says as she continues to drive. A smile creeps onto my face as I look back at Hayes again.
"Jayden, we get it you that you like looking at us, but face forwards until we get to the lake." Cam says as he pretends to flip his hair. I let out a laugh and face forwards again. Skylynn and I play with her horses until we arrive a small cabin on the lake. I'm the first one out of the car and then I hear all the boys coming out.
"Okay, let's unpack and then we'll make a bon fire." Elizabeth says as we walk through the cabin doors. I walk in and I take everything in. It's very peaceful. I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist and someone lay their head on top of mine.
"Hey Grier." I say as I turn my body, Hayes' arms are still wrapped around me but now I'm facing him.
"Hey beautiful." Hayes says with a smile, "I want to take you somewhere." He says as he pulls me toward the door. We walk and walk and walk until we reach a beautiful bridge that goes across the water. We walk on the bridge and stop in the center. It's peaceful and quite for a few minutes. Hayes slowly wraps his arms around my waist and spins me around. Now I'm facing him. My chest is against his and my hands slowly find their way around his neck. We just stand their smiling at each other for awhile, just enjoying being in each other's arms.
"Jayden I want to ask you something," Hayes says breaking the silence. I nod my head for him to continue.
"Jayden Nicole Smith, will you be my girlfriend?" He looks into my eyes and pulls me in closer than I already was. I slowly wrap my legs around his torso. His arms move from my waist to under my thighs to support me. I lean in and plant a soft, gentle, passionate kiss on his lips. He starts kissing back and then we pull away after a few minutes.
"I'll take that as a yes." He says with a smirk.
"I guess you could say that," I say as I reveal a big toothy smile.
He puts me down and then we walk hand in hand back to the cabin, just in time for the bon fire.
