The teasing was relentless, and Megumi was sure that his face was bright red.
It seemed like the hickey he accidentally left on Yuji's neck was visible, even in his uniform, and Megumi cursed, silently, for not checking themselves in the mirror before leaving. Everyone was looking at them, and, although it was mostly just looks of amusement, Megumi hated the attention.
The questions went something like, 'Was it a good night?' (yes), 'Are there any others?' (probably), "Do I need to give you boys the talk?" (shut up, Gojo-sensei), and, his personal favorite, 'Did you use protection?' (no, because we didn't do THAT, and also, fuck off, Kugisaki).
"One more comment and I'm sending Nue after you," Megumi growled, and Nobara giggled.
"You're way too easy to tease," she said. "You're not even the one with the hickey."
"Whatever," Megumi mumbled, and crossed his arms.
"Hey, guys," Yuta said, waving at them, and Megumi relaxed.
"Okkotsu-senpai, Kugisaki is bullying us," Yuji whined, and Yuta chuckled.
"Well, you are an easy target," Maki said, her lips curling.
"Maki-senpai," Megumi grumbled, and her smirk widened.
"Sorry," she said, unconvincingly.
They were waiting for the pairs to be announced, and Megumi was looking forward to sparring. At least, then, he wouldn't have to deal with his friends, and their questions. And, maybe he would get the chance to kick the ass of someone who had teased him.
The thought made him feel slightly better.
"All right, listen up," Gojo said, loudly, and they all turned to look at him. "The pairs are going to be different today, so pay attention."
Megumi sighed, and crossed his arms. Gojo announced the names, and sure enough, they were different, except for...
"Hey, why does Yuji have the same partner as yesterday?" Panda asked, looking over at the list.
"Oh. Well, their circumstance is special, because him and Noritoshi-kun have the same technique," Gojo explained, grinning. "They will train together for the time being."
Megumi noticed the bewildered look on the Kyoto students' faces, and he couldn't help but smile.
"Anyway, have fun, and learn a lot," Gojo said, and winked at them.
Megumi glanced at the pairings, and frowned. Mai Zen'in. Just what he needed.
He looked up, and noticed that she was walking towards him. He sighed, and met her halfway.
"Hello, pretty boy," she said, grinning.
"Hey," Megumi said, shortly, and looked away.
"You seem pissed," she said, amused.
"I had an annoying morning," he said, glaring at her.
"I see. Must have had a busy night," she said, her grin widening.
Megumi clenched his jaw, and tried to take deep breaths. She was really testing his patience, and, honestly, he couldn't believe how insufferable Maki's twin was.
"Look, can we just spar?" he asked, sighing.
"Sure, sure," she said, chuckling.
They headed over to an empty spot, and stood across from each other. Megumi got his weapons ready, and Mai did the same. They didn't move for a few seconds, and then, they both launched at each other.
