33 Safe Zone

Phoenix, Arizona

Safe Zone was founded by Dr. Kelsey Addison, the woman who escaped Dr. Javier that horrible night.

"I built a Safe Zone for all the survivors out there. We will provide a lifetime supply of food and shelter to all of you. Ensuring your safety is our mission. Arizona has the highest survival rate. Come and be part of us," Dr. Addison said over the radio.

"You're strong indeed, Dr. Addison. I salute your dedication," Mr. Dawson, the reporter, said.

"Thank you for saying that," Dr. Addison replied, grateful. After the news, the reporter ended the line.

Mr. Dawson is in Arizona with Dr. Addison, helping each other to make a change. The Safe Zone has almost twenty thousand people as of now, coming from all over the states. The area is huge, covered by thick high walls, with many strict soldiers guarding the gateway. You can't come in without a body check, temperature check, sanitation, and more. Then, a staff member will give you a number card indicating your camp tent or building room. It depends on the situation and the number of residents. Honestly, inside the Safe Zone feels like living in a normal city where it has a grocery store; you can get anything for free but with limitations, of course. There are buildings and camp tents for all the residents to live in. Hospitals are free and well-used. They also built parks and playgrounds especially for children, as well as a chapel for people to pray and keep their faith. It's a new life indeed without the fear of zombies outside the walls. The expectation in return for all they give us is to keep the peace, be grateful, and be humane inside.

Celestia and her mother get inside the Safe Zone with a number card, 19723, which leads them to a building room with beds, appliances, and enough food supplies. Every week, staff members are assigned to refill the food supplies of every resident here.

"We're like living in a dream," Celestia said, looking out a window, seeing humans out there.

"Well, this is a Safe Zone for everyone indeed," Bridget said.

"I wish to meet my father Linus," Celestia said.

"Don't worry, we can meet him again," Bridget said.

Maggie's POV

We arrive in Phoenix, Arizona with the remaining capsules. Thick high walls are built here with many soldiers guarding the gateway. Soldiers start approaching and assisting us.

"Mission Accomplished!" Allie said. We hold our hands together while looking up at the high walls.

After some time...

"I'm Maggie. Where is Dr. Addison?" I asked a soldier while undergoing a body check.

"She's inside, waiting for you all," the soldier said.

"Here are the remaining capsules. Give them to her," I said.

"We're in charge of it. Your mission is accomplished!" the soldier said, and they start clapping for us. After a body and temperature check, sanitation, and more, a staff member gives us a number card, 19750. While we're walking inside, Dr. Addison meets us.

"Hello there, Maggie!" Dr. Addison said, happily.

"Dr. Addison!" I said and hugged her, tears flowing.

"I'm grateful you all survived even though it was risky out there. But where is Sergeant Gregory?" Dr. Addison asked.

"He didn't make it. He sacrificed himself to save us, as well as our friends Akira and Yvette," I informed her, still in tears.

"I'm sorry to hear that!" Dr. Addison said.

"Did you see the remaining capsules?" I asked her.

"Yes, thankfully you made it here. I'm working on it now. Don't worry; a vaccine will be made soon," Dr. Addison said.

While we're walking, Charlie runs towards a girl he recognizes as Celestia.

"Celestia, I miss you so much!" Charlie said, hugging Celestia. She can't even move, still not believing we're here.

"Charlie, you're here. I miss you!" Celestia said, and she hugged everyone.

After some time, Charlie and Celestia are playing in the park. Louis and I are sitting somewhere, eating ice cream, and talking.

"We did it, Maggie!" Louis softly said.

"Yeah, we're strong enough to get through all of it," I softly said.

"I promise to protect you and Charlie no matter what in life," Louis said, looking into my eyes, and we kissed.

Allie's POV

Duke and I are walking somewhere in the park, seeing Charlie and Celestia playing while Maggie and Louis are kissing.

"Duke, can we continue traveling somewhere like New York?" I asked.

"Yup, we can continue what we wanted to do before this zombie outbreak happened. We will travel to New York and have fun and moments together," Duke softly said.

"Duke, I love you," I softly said.

"I love you too, Allie," Duke softly said, and we started kissing.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Three years after the zombie outbreak...

Haven Foundation Inc. was founded by Linus Javier, Bethany Morgan, and Apollo Dale.

"The new and high-tech laboratory facilities of Dr. Linus Javier, Haven Laboratory, created by Haven Foundation Incorporated," Apollo, my co-worker, loudly said, congratulating me.

Businessmen and women started cheering and clapping loudly.

"Thank you for this moment. Haven Foundation Incorporated will serve you with trust, dignity, and loyalty. We built Haven Laboratory to create the vaccine we've all been waiting for to end this zombie outbreak. I dedicate this to my wife Lauren and the name behind our foundation, my daughter Haven," I proudly said and walked down the stage.

"Congrats, Linus. You're the man!" Bethany congratulated me.

"Thanks, Bethany!" I responded.

"Hello there, people!" Apollo approached us.

After some time, we made an announcement over the radio to inform all the survivors out there.

"Anyone still surviving? We have great news for you all. We will make a difference. A capsule has been created as the first dose of the vaccine to stop the zombie outbreak!" I announced over the radio.

"Las Vegas, Nevada is the new Safe Zone!" Apollo informed.

"So, people in the Safe Zone of Arizona, come with us and you will have eternal life!" Bethany said, grinning.
