Jungwon lay in bed. The room was bathed with the soft glow of fairy lights adorning the walls, casting their warm illumination upon him. Jungwon's eyes reflected a whirlwind of emotions—shock, curiosity, and perhaps a hint of disbelief. His messy hair sprawled across the pillowcase as he absentmindedly twirled a strand between his fingertips, lost in thought. Did Jay even like him? Maybe the older didn't even know so Jungwon shrugged it off. The ever-present smile on his face had slightly faded, replaced by a serene contentment that radiated from within. His mind buzzed with countless questions and he wondered if Jay knew that they were soulmates. Yet beneath it all lingered an unmistakable sense of excitement like he had just unearthed a precious secret.

As Jungwon lay there in quiet contemplation, he couldn't help but share it with someone. He picked up his phone, calling the first person that came to mind when he thought about Jay, "Sunghoon-ie Hyung?" Jungwon could hear a groan coming from the other side of the line but he couldn't care less, he knew his friends were there for him no matter what the time. "Jungwon, what do you want at this time?" Sunghoon sighed, his voice groggy and full of sleep. "Jay Hyung is my soulmate, isn't he?" First, there was silence, then Jungwon could hear some shuffling coming from the phone it was as if Sunghoon was now sitting on top of the bed.

Sunghoon gulped, he was unable to talk at first. He didn't know if he was supposed to tell Jungwon. "I- I'm not sure. I did doubt it though." Sunghoon quickly cleared his throat as he heard Jungwon hum and then proceeded to ask the younger a question, "How'd you find out?" Jungwon sighed as he bit his lip, if Sunghoon doubted it then that could only mean that Jay didn't possibly know. "I had only thought about something and he replied to it. That's when I realized. He thought I had said it but really, I hadn't." Sunghoon nodded, it was as if he was expecting it all to unfold soon enough. "Does Jay Hyung know it's me?" A short pause and then Sunghoon's voice came through the phone, "Not yet."

The next day at school, when they had all met during lunch, Jungwon and Sunghoon exchanged a look and then nodded shortly. While on call, they had decided not to tell Jay and instead, they would let him find out on his own. Jungwon was grateful he shared no classes with him before lunch and Jay had managed to get through those classes without hearing any thoughts, he was glad he had some time to focus in class. However, back at their lunch table, he could hear them, the thoughts were less frequent and he didn't realize that his soulmate was trying to control them. Eventually, lunch was over and Jay had to head to math class with both Jake and Jungwon.
