Taylor woke up feeling unusually tired and crampy. She had an inkling of what might be happening but tried to push the thought away as she stretched in bed. Travis was still asleep beside her, his steady breathing a comforting background sound. She sighed softly, trying not to wake him as she slipped out of bed and headed to the bathroom.

Sure enough, her suspicions were confirmed. She'd gotten her period. A wave of discomfort washed over her, and she winced at the familiar cramps starting to form. This was the last thing she needed today, with a busy schedule ahead.

Returning to the bedroom, she tried to ease back into bed without waking Travis, but he stirred, blinking sleepily.

"Love, you okay?" he asked, his voice thick with sleep.

"Yeah, just... girl stuff," she said, hoping he'd let it go.

But Travis, ever attentive, sat up, concern etched on his face. "You don't look okay. What's wrong?"

Taylor sighed, realizing she couldn't hide it from him. "I got my period, and it's hitting me hard this time. Cramps, fatigue, the whole shebang."

Travis immediately went into caregiver mode. "What can I do to help? Do you need anything?"

"I just need to rest," she said, appreciating his concern. "And maybe some painkillers. I have a few meetings today, but I can reschedule most of them."

"Say no more," he said, already getting out of bed. "I'll take care of everything. You just relax."

Taylor watched him go, a mix of gratitude and affection swelling in her chest. Travis was always so thoughtful and supportive, and today was no different.

As she lay back down, trying to find a comfortable position, she heard Travis in the kitchen, rummaging around. A few minutes later, he returned with a glass of water and some painkillers.

"Here, take these," he said, handing her the pills and the water. "I'm going to run out and grab some supplies. Is there anything specific you need?"

"Just the usual," she said, managing a weak smile. "Pads, maybe some snacks. And if you could get a heating pad, that would be amazing."

"Consider it done," he said, giving her a quick kiss on the forehead before heading out.

Taylor lay back, grateful for the brief respite the painkillers provided. She knew she was lucky to have someone like Travis, who not only cared about her but was willing to go out of his way to make her feel better.

About half an hour later, she heard the front door open and close, followed by the sound of bags rustling. Travis appeared in the bedroom, arms laden with supplies. He set everything down and started unpacking.

"I got everything on your list and then some," he said, holding up a heating pad, various snacks, and a few different types of pads. "And I thought you might like some of these." He handed her a box of her favorite chocolates and a bouquet of flowers.

Taylor's eyes filled with tears at his thoughtfulness. "Travis, you're amazing. Thank you so much."

"Anything for you," he said, giving her a gentle hug. "Now, let's get you comfortable."

He plugged in the heating pad and helped her position it over her abdomen. The warmth provided immediate relief, and she sighed in contentment.

"That feels so much better," she said, leaning back against the pillows.

"Good," he said, sitting beside her. "Now, how about some of these snacks? I got your favorites."

They spent the next hour lounging in bed, munching on snacks and watching TV. Taylor felt the cramps gradually easing, thanks in part to the painkillers and the heating pad, but mostly because of Travis's comforting presence.

At one point, Travis disappeared into the kitchen and returned with a steaming mug of herbal tea. "I read that this helps with cramps," he said, handing her the mug.

She took a sip, savoring the warmth and the subtle minty flavor. "You're a lifesaver."

As the day wore on, Taylor felt her energy slowly returning. Travis remained by her side, making sure she had everything she needed. When she started feeling a bit more like herself, she decided to tackle some work emails. Travis set up her laptop on a portable desk and made sure she was comfortable.

"Don't overdo it," he warned, giving her a stern look. "You need to rest."

"I know, I will," she promised, appreciating his concern. "I just need to get a few things done."

Travis nodded, understanding her need to stay on top of her work. He busied himself with tidying up the apartment and making sure she had fresh water and snacks.

Later in the afternoon, Taylor felt well enough to take a short nap. Travis tucked her in, making sure the heating pad was still in place, and kissed her softly on the forehead.

"Rest well, babe," he whispered.

When she woke up, the sun was beginning to set. She felt much better, the cramps reduced to a dull ache. She found Travis in the kitchen, cooking dinner.

"Hey," she said, leaning against the doorway. "What's cooking?"

"Chicken soup," he said, turning to smile at her. "Thought it might be nice and soothing."

"You're incredible," she said, feeling a surge of love for him. "Thank you for taking such good care of me today."

"Anything for you," he replied, pulling her into a gentle hug. "You're my number one priority."

They enjoyed a quiet dinner together, the chicken soup warming Taylor from the inside out. Afterward, they curled up on the couch to watch a movie, Taylor resting her head on Travis's shoulder.

"I'm so lucky to have you," she said softly, intertwining her fingers with his.

"I'm the lucky one," he replied, kissing the top of her head. "I'm just glad I could help."

As the movie played, Taylor felt a deep sense of contentment. It had been a challenging day, but Travis's unwavering support had made all the difference. She knew that no matter what life threw at them, they could handle it together.

As the credits rolled, Taylor looked up at Travis and smiled. "Thank you for being my rock today."

"Always," he said, kissing her gently. "I love you, Taylor."

"I love you too, Travis," she replied, feeling a warmth that had nothing to do with the heating pad or the tea. It was the warmth of knowing she was loved and cared for, and that made all the difference.

They stayed on the couch, wrapped in each other's arms, watching the stars come out through the window. It was a simple, quiet evening, but to Taylor, it was perfect. She knew that with Travis by her side, she could face anything, even the toughest of days.
