Oh my first love, so pure and true
A feeling I never knew
But alas, it was one sided
A love that could not be divided
I was smitten, head over heels
But my heart, it did not appeal
For his eyes were set on another
Leaving me shattered, no lover
I watched from afar
As he gazed at her star
My heartache, it knew no end
As my first love, it could not be mend
I poured my heart out in vain
Hiding my feelings, masking the pain
For he only saw her, my best friend
And my heart, it could not comprehend
But through it all, I still loved
A love that could not be shoved
For you were my first, my only
Even if it was just one side, lonely
I held on to every moment
Even though it was not potent
For my first love, it will always stay
A memory that will never fade away
So here I am, with a broken heart
But my first love, it will never depart
For it taught me to love, to feel
And that, my dear, is truly real.
