Lakshmana sighed. She was waiting patiently for Vrishasen but on the other side she was nervous too. She didn't know what was happening with her.
Vrishasen came beside her. He was really excited to meet her and he was happy but after coming face to face with her, an uneasiness replaced all those feelings.
While both of them were troubled, seeing each other just eased out all their pain.
"Let's go", he said. She nodded.
The ladies sat in the palanquins while men stepped on the chariots.
Lakshmana sighed thinking about her changed emotions but she got distracted when her friend gossiped about meeting her cousins.
After a long journey, they reached Dwarka.
Lakshmana gulped. She knew that after what happened in Dyut sabha, nothing could be done for better.
She was really scared. She consoled herself after seeing the women who were common wives of warriors from both sides. They could literally pass out from tension.
Even though their children had the same mother but the kids were separated. The kids born from Pandavas were with Pandavas while the kids born from the warriors at this side grew up with her.
And the same parent relation couldn't stop the hatred between these kids as well unfortunately.
She felt happy for Anvika though. She was the wife of her father, kakashree Karna, Kakashree Ashwatthama, Kakashree Eklavya, Kakashree Dev.
Anvika maa didn't had to see her children hating on each other because they were classified into Pandavas and Kauravas.
Lakshmana thought that all ladies were from outside and men were Kurus except her and her sisters and Dushala bua of course.
Despite her Pitamahi Gandhari and Pitamahi Kunti being so loving, their sons grew up with grudges. And she is happy to meet their cousins but the boys are just seeing them as opponents. And she hated to say this but it was correct that maybe the Pandava children also thought of them as Kauravas and not their cousins.
Lakshmana thought painfully that even though mother gave milk and father gave blood, blood overruled everything. They had the kuru blood which was known to hold grudges forever and right now except her, everyone did held grudges on both sides, didn't they?
If not, then why the children of the common wives were living as Pandavas and Kauravas forgetting they were siblings too having same mother. They got so engrossed in living as their fathers children that they forgot to love each other as their mother's kids. Same mother.
Vrishasen stared at her from afar. He smiled sadly. He and Lakshmana were the only ones who were happy to meet the kids on the other side. Others were not.
He really thought it was unfair that the elders ruined things to such extent that now there was no going back and that his generation would be just sacrificed in all of this.
He could feel her pain. He was not related to Pandu. He was an outsider. His father was not related to Kurus. His father was just a friend.
He could never understand the amount of pain Lakshmana was feeling at this moment.
Lakshmana was happy also. The ladies who were common wives were told to stay in Hastinapur only by Pitahmah Dritrashtra to at least not bear the sufferings on the other side. She admitted they lived in tension of war but they were together.
Pandava family was just drifted apart with all kids in different kingdoms and fathers in exile.
The women were going to meet their husbands on the Pandava side and the kids as well.
As they stepped foot inside the kingdom, their welcome was announced.
They stepped inside and Lakshmana greeted every soldier earning smiles from them.
But all happiness vanished when the Pandava family stood in front and glares started getting exchanged between the people.
Lakshmana shook her head. Her eyes glistened seeing her cousins, the most dear one from all, Suthanu.
But to her dismay, Suthanu looked at her in disgust and looked away.
Lakshmana blinked back her tears.
Fortunately, Maharaj Krishna arrived on the scene and the war of words was prevented.
"Pranipat", Lakshmana said sweetly to Krishna earning a smile from him as he lovingly caressed her hair.
They entered inside and saw Sashirekha with Abhimanyu.
Lakshmana smiled. That girl who was her would to be bhabhishree was so beautiful.
Lakshman held a sheepish look. Lakshmana glared at him. All he could think off was his own fun. He didn't even decided to look princely. That was what Vrishketu said annoyed when Kakashree Karna told him to behave maturely.
They were ushered to settle in the court when Lakshmana stood up and decided to search for Suthanu.
"Give me a moment Pitashree", she said and Duryodhan nodded with a smile.
Lakshmana went outside.
"Hello", she heard. She turned around and saw a boy. Who was he? He looked around her age.
"I am Sambh. Krishna and Jambavati Nandan", he introduced joining his hands.
"Pranipat", she greeted. "I am Lakshmana, the eldest princess of Hastinapur", she said. "daughter of Yuvraj Duryodhan and Yuvrani Bhanumati".
However, she got uncomfortable instantly by his gaze on her.
His gaze irritated her and she wanted to just get away from him.
"Mana. Where are you?" Vrishasen asked. "I need that bag", he said.
Lakshmana got alert.
"Coming Sena", she said. They didn't call any brother Vrish because already there were Vrishasena and Vrishketu so they used the ones after Vrish.
Sambh clenched his fists and glared at that sight.
"Haa. Which bag?" She asked.
"None", Vrishasena said grumpily. "what an idiot. Doesn't even know how to look at women. Come with me", he muttered.
Lakshmana giggled as he held her hand and both went away.
Sambh kept glaring at them.
